Aiming Fix

Okay so I know there have been a lot of posts about the aiming in H5 being off and I’ve experienced it as well, on and off throughout the entire duration of the game being out. Sometimes I’m on, sometimes I’m not. But recently it’s been pretty off. Now I know this could be attributed to my skill level but lately (as I’ve heard from others as well) the aiming has been touchy and seems “uncontrolled”. Left and right seem to be smooth, for the most part, but the second I go up or down and diagonal, it gets weird.

Ive tried messing with the new controller settings but if you’re like the majority of us, you have no idea what it even means or how to make it perfect for yourself. Either way, I found a fix. This fix has nothing to do with your controller or settings. It’s what you play on. The entire duration of halo 5 I’ve played on a TV. A good one. But literally, last night I decided to hook up my Xbox to my brothers monitor and LITERALLY, the aiming was fixed. It was smooth. No uncontrolled movements. If I aimed somewhere it would go there. And I play mostly SWAT, so it matters. Now I realize this isn’t a practical fix. Not everybody can just go out and get a brand new computer monitor BUT if you’re really struggling with the aiming and are a dedicated halo player, I suggest investing in one (my brothers was 100$) because the gameplay is completely different.

If if anyone has any other fixes that deal with the controller settings, I’d love to hear about them because I’ll be going back to my TV after New Years lol.

Does your TV have a game mode option you can enable? Most newer flat screens have this option somewhere and enabling it will help you out. Default settings on most flat screens can cause significant delays in image projection which will affect your aiming depending on how long the delay is. Most people don’t know that enabling all those extra features on their TV’s is actually hurting their game play.

Being one of the Players who HIGHLY complained about the aiming being screwed. I found personally after they added the more indepth aiming settings into the game, that really helped the game out. I’m glad you seemed to have found a fix(Because if you leave your game settings on default, the aiming is still pretty screwed.) But you should also mess with the deadzone settings for anyone else. They work mircles lol.

Input latency, that’s the majority of the problem people will face. The bigger your screen and more features you tv has on will slow it down. Along with not wiring your controller.
I have a BenQ that I play on and then a 46" for watching everything else with an active HDMI switch to the Xbox.
