Aiming feels really weird

there is a micro stutter, and some kinda frame pacing issues for sure. Sometimes it just feels impossible to aim.
Im happy with the decrease in mag across the board but there still is something behind the scenes thats effecting it. Everything just feels kinda twitchy like ur aims on ice, at least thats the best way i can describe it.

> I think it’s a deadzone problem, I think the ratio’s of movement are messed up. Like the horizontal and vertical axis are the same, but as soon as you start moving diagonal it slows down, and there isn’t enough of a degree of control at low thumbstick input. Drop your deadzones in halo 5 and the mcc and see what I’m talking about. You can make perfect circles with your reticule, but not in halo infinite.

I agree, even if you low the deadzone to zero it still feels like there’s some deadzone on the sticks, which is very annoying.

I’ve been getting a weird bug where sometimes when they game is slightly laggy, the game will keep moving my aim back to where it was, and then when I move to compensate for that, it will fix itself. The result is my reticle just kind of gently flailing around when im aiming and it kind of makes it feel like theres no aim assist. Ill try creating a clip of it, but its only happened 3 times. I have good internet, so I hardly lag. Maybe the lack of aim assist people are feeling is just weird lag, because it normally feels just fine. During those 3 games though, it felt like playing slayer VS your own team mates, just zero assist.

I agree, aiming does feel weird. Almost non existent aim assist. I think it should be tuned up maybe…5-10%?

Pretty sure it’s just low aim assist compared to past Halos and other games. It’s a good thing in my opinion, skill gap is gonna be a lit bigger.

I noticed that too, and I think it’s because of the aim assist. Not as intrusive as Halo 5.
I don’t mind it, but if crossplay is going to be enabled then I think it should be turned up a bit.

343 got rid of aim assist to appease the PC crowd. Aiming does feel weird and if people (especially console gamers) are noticing it and it’s leaving a bad impression now then they won’t play the full multiplayer at launch. I know I won’t.

The aim assist is fine If the aim assist was so -Yoink- I wouldn’t be getting 60 to 70% accuracy with my weapons per match. My accuracy in this is even better than it was in H5.

I think it it might be a multi tiered issue with aiming. The aim assist is definitely lower, but deadzones and acceleration are also really strange making aiming feel overall really slippery and wrong. I know I’ve already stopped playing because it bothered me so much.

I fully agree that if this isn’t corrected it will likely push away many players shortly after launch. If there are multiple H3 50s having trouble with this then it will be nearly unusable for the newer casual players that play on default settings. I imagine they’d end up just going to some other game where they can actually hit shots and have fun instead of fighting with Infinite’s slippery controls.

> Anyone else finding the aiming in this to feel incredibly strange? My aim on past Halos and other shooters has always been pretty dang good on default sensitivity, but I’m struggling to aim even on a 1 sens in Infinite. Reminds me of what quake 3 on the 360 felt like, which had 0 aim assist.

This game is on a new engine, I felt the same way about the aiming as well. They have more aim settings now so I think they want you to tweak it a little or what not… I did play MCC and halo 5 along with the infinite preview and I can tell there’s a difference but yet feels familiar…

If you reduce the acceleration and set the vertical and horizontal sensitivity to 5, it stops feeling slippery, but since the aim assist was reduced it requires a little bit of more skill to stay on target (Particularly with the sidekick).

How is it skill when in Destiny, MCC, Apex, COD, Overwatch and other FPS games the thumbsticks due exactly what I want them too and in this game it’s all over the place? The aiming is wonky no matter how you mess with the settings.

Even for aiming at a spot on the wall I either undershoot, overshoot, and the acceleration is all over the place. Controller working fine on any other game. So it’s not just the aim assistance. It’s the new engine.

> There is incredibly low aim assist in controller, if any and the look acceleration feels really weird. The former I can kind of understand because streamers dropped MCC on PC in about a week because they couldn’t compete with controllers and mkb players have been complaining since day 1 about aim assist being too strong on controller. The latter I hope is just something that needs tweaking with the flight.

To me it feels great on controller. Lot of MKB players complaining it’s too hard for them to keep up with strafing. I couldn’t care less about the MKB players/streamers because a lot of them are flavor of the month anyway.

Agreed. My accuracy is fine on controller. God forbid we have a skill gap in 2021.

I will try to do this as well. I keep having issues with my aim over shooting what I am trying to hit. My first match today I couldn’t even get single kill bc all my shots were missing due to over correction. And keep in mind on most games I usually play on a sensitivity of 6 to 7. So I am used to tweaking my aim at high speeds. But whenever I tweak my aim on this game it’s like it has anti aim assist where I have to fight the game to actually get on target.

It feels a lot better to me in Flight 2. They seem to have fixed the slow diagonal aiming issue from flight 1, that was probably the thing that threw me off the most in the first flight. I have all my deadzones including the new deadzone setting set to the lowest on my right stick and that feels much more responsive than last flight as well

I haven’t played much yet, just messed around in training for like 20 mins yesterday is all. I can actually kill things with the sidekick now so that alone is a major improvement, haven’t tried out the sniper yet.

I don’t know I’m still having issues with the aiming.

What sensitivity is everyone using, default feels really stutter.

I love the defaults in MCC halos, and even 5 but infinites shooting feels weird.

Aiming felt very odd this flight. Felt like I was playing PUBG at times.

It’s just too erratic. I wouldn’t want assist mechanics where they were during older Halo games, but they could certainly use a bump, which is how I felt last preview. I can prob count on my hands the number of players I’ve seen hit 60% accuracy.
