Has anyone noticed that there are times where aiming just feels off. I have adjusted the settings to where I like them and then suddenly for just a moment they feel completely different and my aim just goes way beyond what I was expecting to move.
I play with a controller, and can tell there are times it feels like it is aiming as I intended to, and then just suddenly it is not. It is possible the aim assist is causing the move to accelerate faster than expected, but I have no idea why. I had no issues from the second flight like this at all.
As for settings. I have put all deadzone settings (movement and look) to max value, while decreasing sensitivity acceleration to 1, and lowering sensitivity for horizontal and vertical down by 1-1.5. It drastically helps, but sometimes it still moves around too fast.
In addition to this, it occasionally feels like Aim-Assist just does random crap from game to game. Some games, the AR will just straight up not have RR at point blank, others the Sidekick will get sticky at ranges it feels it shouldn’t. The whole experience, at least for me on Xbox, feels wildly inconsistent from match to match.
Think the description said higher reduces drift. Either way, when set to max these issues reduced from pretty often to only sometimes. Hence why I haven’t reduced the value, it actually is helping.
I’ve messed with my controller settings a bunch but I haven’t found any settings that feel good, in Halo CE through Reach you can just start the game and the aiming feels fine with no additional input, players should not have to sit and tweak controller settings for hours trying to fix whatever’s wrong with the aiming.
You have no idea how many times I’ve gone through the settings and try to find the right setting just for it just to jerk too far left or not be precise enough it’s just ridiculous how much of the settings I got to try and find and it’s still not right. I was super excited for today but having PC kids on the other team go 40 and 3. And my aim is all over the place or too slow or not fast enough and it’s just ridiculous and killed it for me. I played all three flights and It still doesn’t feel right.
To me, it feels like just random moments of it being too responsive. I go from being able to aim, to one moment it just jumps with a tap, then I bring it back in and it works again. Didn’t have as many issues with the second flight. It seems strange that this is the first FPS on a controller that I had to really tweak settings. But none seem to help as I almost feel aim assist is causing some issues.
You want to set the deadzones as low as possible. First thing I would do is make sure aim acceleration is set to max (5) this will insure theres no delay, whatever number your vertical and horizontal sens is set to is what it will feel like immediately.
Changing that setting made the biggest difference for me. Feels pretty great now.
I managed to get my aiming to feel awesome in the Flights but there are so many different options and I can’t remember everything that I chose lol
I’m sure deadzones were all at pretty much zero although I have to tweak them a little bit because at zero I definitely get some drift.
For aim acceleration I thought I had it at maximum but I need to find a YouTube video to explain exactly what each option does because I’m not 100% sure I understand the difference between all the different options.
My aiming doesn’t feel great at the moment but I think I just need to get used to it again because Infinite aiming is definitely a little harder than Halo 5.
I’ve mainly been using m/kb, but at one point I did switch to a controller. I got my settings feeling pretty good but after IO got off the game and got back on they were all messed up. I checked my settings and they hadn’t changed either. Since then I just went back to m/kb.
Tried out the recommended settings of going lower. Seems to have helped as well. More of the help than increasing them. So strange that basically just center was bad.
