Hey guys,
So I’ve been doing some “unofficial” testing, and I’ve come up with some interesting conclusions.
So I’ve been having issues with the aiming system, since launch (even after all updates and patches). I’m a low ONYX level player and have felt “held back” or “Handcuffed” by the aiming in this game. Fast forward to this past weekend, when I started testing out certain aspects of the system.
So I always stay within the “aiming” section of the right analog stick (as in I do a pretty good job of not “pegging” my stick), but I feel like I’ve been having difficulty tracking players… however, when I claw, the aiming becomes remarkably smoother. So I decide to concentrate on why.
So I’ve historically held my controllers “normally”, has I’ve never gotten into clawing (I also use paddles/buttons on the rears). As I clawed, over the weekend, I noticed the postioning of my thumb and its interaction with the right stick. My thumb was inserted into the “groove” of the stick and I was able to move in any direction freely. This was also helped by the fact that pulling the right trigger had NO effect on the tracking I did with the right stick (as in no hesitate/hitch… even in the slightest way).
So, I then hold the controller “normally”, and this is when the issues come in, tracking was (shoot myself) frustrating… Slight hesitation when pulling the right trigger (got better at that one though)… “windmilling” was an issue.
now, clawing is an issue for me, as I have hugs “basketball” hands. I tried holding the controller “loosely” within my fingers, but again, fatigue/cramping dashed those dreams. So do I need to play with the deadzones, to compensate for these issues? I feel like lower level players won’t notice these, as their opponents aren’t as mobile (higher lever strafes/jump boosting/etc). Can others test the above, and report back their findings?
