aiming and sounds

ever since the new update, my friends and I have come across issues, for one, when we get headshots with no shields, the enemy player doesn’t die, it take up to 5 shots

Now this might be a lag issue but We’ve also done it on our own and still get the same problem, and we have good connections

Also, I use headphones when I play and I find that sounds are off: I hear bullets from the walls and limits of the map where no player is.

Have you tried having the connection host watch the gameplay in Theater? Doing so should allow you to conclusively rule out lag as a possibility.

More info, if you’re interested in that sort of test:

The host (which is not the same thing as the Party Leader) basically acts like a server for everyone else in the match, so they shouldn’t see as much lag as other players. If the host sees gunshots miss someone’s head, then those shots really did miss the head, and anyone who saw them hit the head is lagging.

I know of one reliable way to identify the host of a Halo 4 match: they, and only they, will see orange markers on the ground showing where Ordnance is about to land. This applies during Theater as well: you’ll only see those markers in a Film if the person that recorded it was host.

So with that info in mind: if you see this bug while in a match with your friends, and can figure out who’s host, then you can have that person watch the match in Theater. If the glitched headshots appear as body shots or straight-up misses when that person uses Theater, then the problem is just lag.

Let us know if that clears up any issues as this does sound like it may be isolated to connection.
