Aim speed issue?

Anyone notice an inconsistent aim speed when using a controller?

Specifically, the speed at which the cursor moves across the screen. Sometimes it moves quickly when I barely touch the thumb stick. Other times it moves extremely slowly.

If you haven’t experienced this, it’s kind of like having two different settings on look speed. One at 10. One at 3. Never knowing which will be used on any given game.

The issue is that when this occurs, I have to quickly adjust for whatever aim speed is being used for that game.

A friend said it’s because my mouse is registering some sort of input, and so rather than use my controller settings, it’s using the controller as a mouse (using mouse settings).

I’m going to change my mouse settings to what I have for controller, and hope that works, but does anyone have a definitive answer to this?

It sounds like something having to do with your deadzones/Look acceleration. I’m personally still working to find a better combo of settings for this. If this is your issue I’d recommend looking for shyway’s video about this on youtube, lot of good info there.

Possibly, but I think it’s swapping to mouse input settings and using the controller as a mouse instead of registering it as a controller.

Otherwise I’d expect it to be one speed, because my dead zones don’t change.

I have this issue. Sometime it feels like the game tampers with your aim because you got a little bit too much above the 50% intended win rate.

And yes I do have a tiny tinfoil hat for this one reason. I’ve played Halo for decades, I know when a player/team is messing me up, and I know when the game itself is fighting back as hard. It’s awful.

I think I saw another post on here talking about, if you switch to controller from MnK that aim assist wont work on controller. People were recommending quitting and restarting the game if you change input methods. I think the op was about using a keyboard for in-game chat if you try to searching for it
