Aim Assist stronger in Ranked Crossplay than Ranked Controller only?

I remember when PC gamers were complaining a lot about controller players having too much aim assist and I was confused because for me the aim assist on a controller in Infinite seemed way lower than it had in previous Halo games.

Today I played around three hours straight of Ranked Solo/Duo Controller only playlist.

I then immediately jumped over to the Ranked Crossplay playlist and instantly I felt a big difference and a significant improvement in my performance and accuracy. The difference was really staggering to me and I can’t believe I only just noticed.

Does the BR have more aim assist on controller if you’re playing Ranked Crossplay rather than Ranked Controller only? It definitely felt like it did today.

Your aim is improving.

Playing 3 hours straight will do that.

What platform are you playing on with controller…pc or console? Do you have any data to back this up or is it just a feeling? Could it be that you were connected to a decent server with minimal desync compared to your previous games?

Basically no one should just assume or spread rumours that aim assist is stronger in one playlist than another without any evidence.

I’ve played three hours straight many times before.

The difference between playlists felt really obvious to me.

Obviously I need to test it again but my rank and overall performance are much better when I play crossplay (even though I always run solo).

Well, I don’t really visit ranked as often as I should.

If there are any aiming inconsistencies be sure to let 343 know. I do know that the game’s aiming is certainly worse than MCC’s.

I’m playing on Series X.
I’m not sure how I can share my stats but my overall rank is higher in ranked crossplay than it is ranked controller.

I’m definitely not saying that aim assist is definitely better and obviously it needs to be tested more, just wondering if anyone else has noticed something similar.

I’m also on XSX and I haven’t noticed a difference tbh. My crossplay rank is higher but I presume that’s because I’ve played more games (I’ll have to check), and I usually have to carry my friend in solo/duo so my KD is also lower…however I’m pretty sure my accuracies between playlists are similar (which is probably the most applicable stats). I’ll check both our profiles and reply back.

Edit1: just checked my stats and have similar games played…slightly more solo/duo (40) than open (32), and I’m P6 in both (slightly higher CSR in open than solo/duo). My stats are better in open than solo/duo but I put that down to carrying my friend and having 2 other random team mates without any communication compared to playing as a party of 4 in open with mics. My accuracies are almost indentical (+/- 1-2%) so my conclusion is that there isn’t any difference in aim assist by my experience or my data.

Edit2: I can’t find your stats so I’m guessing NutJobJim isn’t your GT? Without being able to check your stats or recent games, I’d be more inclined to put it down to a better server connection or playing against lower skilled players.

It’s easier to have a better accuracy/easier time shooting Vs worse players which Crossplay has plenty of.

Interesting, maybe it’s not the case at all.

I’m not sure how I can check my stats in that level of detail but my gamertag is NUTSO JIMBO

NutJobJim was my old name.

Would be interested in hearing how mine compare.

Yes I suppose it could definitely be this as well.

Ok I can see your D1 (open) and P6 (solo/duo) with very little difference in CSR so basically you’re about the same as you’ll level up to D1 too with a few wins.

You’ve played much more solo/duo (216) than open (94) but that’s a reasonable amount of games on both to compare stats…unless you stopped playing one playlist completely and improved your gameplay whilst playing the other.

You do have a slightly better KD in open than solo/duo but I could draw the same conclusions as myself in that you are playing with 2 randoms with no comms. Similarly your accuracy stats are almost identical between each playlist so there is absolutely no evidence to support any aim assist differential between playlists.

If you’re based in the UK/EU then feel free to add me as we’re similar rank and all my mates have stopped playing so looking for decent players to play with: K0NCEPTUK (the 0 is a zero)

Maybe it was a server issue or something then but it seemed like a significant difference in the games I played when I switched over to crossplay yesterday.

Glad the stats don’t support my theory though - thanks for doing the analysis.

I’m in the UK and play most days after 5pm.
I’m winding down how much I play Infinite these days but will be sure to add you.
