So, the weird funky feeling of the aim assist is something I had taken into account in the previous couple of flights but now it almost feels like it was outright removed.
I remember at some point 343’s excuse for removing the red reticle was that it was to prevent cheaters from exploiting it (how? that’s not how it works) but now that we’ve seen cheaters in the wild nonetheless, I’m still a bit perplexed as to why they haven’t adressed it since.
It’s incredibly hard to play on PC with a Controller because I can barely use precision weapons effectively and M&K doesn’t really feel like an option because I can’t aim for squat with them.
Why does it feel like I’m being punished for playing the way I like playing Halo?

Plenty of talk on the forum about this subject. You’re not alone. I’ve been working on this since the test preview. There is something fundamentally wrong. Latest update that changing the color of your opponent’s actually activates something in the back ground that will give you red reticle which 343 said they disabled. One of the red colors try it and see if that helps but this is a huge issue that I’d say half of us are experiencing and it’s not just on PC. If you are reading this and not experiencing a problem I plead with you not to post that you are not having an issue because it’s just muddying the water that there is in fact an issue that some are experiencing.

100% just not you. As @GTRBlackhawk stated, it’s been an issue since the tech test and has yet to be resolved. And it’s not just a PC-controller input issues either, it’s also bad on console-controller input.
The common responses of “git gud” or “try adjusting your sens settings” isn’t working for a huge amount of the player base. It’s a fundamental issue that needs to be fixed.

Hey BA! Sorry haven’t been on with ya away from the house on a work trip.
Yeah so combing the forums and social there’s two things I know that “help” one being on the start screen do not press any button on your keyboard or mouse. The game thinks you are playing with those and not a gamepad. If you can’t enter the game with anything on the gamepad try restarting the game and or your system. Second work/fix is changing the colors of your opponent’s outline. Being away and the issues with the arbitir. File corrupting my laptop I haven’t proven these to work so take it all with a grain of salt but for sure this is some sort of software issue which again goes back to it being a glitch that we have been trying to pin down since the test preview.
Side note there’s a few videos now out that show people playing on controller not even using the aim stick and getting perfect kills back to back. It’s almost like there’s a background piece of software that is activating when it should be off and vice versa. Again been working on this since the test preview and every door I go down trying to troubleshoot I end up ten steps back. 343 needs to address they at least are looking into this I hope.

I believe there is currently a glitch where if you enter an vehicle or pick up an objective aim assist will disable itself. Must reboot the game to fix the issue.

I ran a few tests today. You lose aim assist only when your shields are broken. If at full shields you’ll have aim assist.
