It feels the same to me. Controller on both Xbox and PC has the upper hand. Besides the controller winning more times than none with strafing battles, the biggest issue (I personally think) is the advantage controller has at rang with it’s stronger bullet magnetism.
I play controller. It basically plays for me with the BR.
Thats pretty much what i said in my first post. That AA is pretty weak, and its magnetism. Which magnetism makes an even bigger diff on bad servers and poor hit detection. Magnetism can also be easily added to MNK as it is in most game because its not an aim assist exclusive feature.
but other than that, strafing at halo speeds is almost better on controller anyway, the analogs movement and full 360 move radius allows for better smoother strafes while easily staying on target with even just the left (movement) stick using the right for smaller micro adjustments. Along with low sensitivity allowing for better consistency on a longer ttk. and 0 recoil (which recoil control is usually a huge mnk advantage)
Halo is one of the few games where the design and gameplay fit a controller very well and the normal benefits of MNK are of little use. I do agree magnetism is too low on MNK and a buff to it would do the most to balance things, because i do not think the AA part is the “reason” controller beats mnk in HALO. Just the same as MNK beets controller in games that are desinged to take advantage of mnk strengths, i.e. games with fast movement, low ttk, recoil control ect.
Controller can make you feel like a God, that’s for sure. On paper, the commando should beat the BR. The commando with keyboard and mouse, forget about it. I don’t know why I still pick that gun up in quick play but I do, because it should beat the BR but BR plus controller it doesn’t stand a chance. Now take it the other way around, commando plus controller against BR with keyboard and mouse, commando wins. Strange, isn’t it?
The camando.
In my opinion. It’s the new competitive gun to me. I love it so much. The scope in is perfect and is exactly the type of scope all the guns should have. It’s hard to aim with so it takes skill to shoot (yes there is still strong aim assist). The BR is just so easy to use. I feel really laid back using it.
But whenever I play with the camando and pistol, the gun fights are actually interesting. I have to correct my aim a lot more. The “dance” is more pronounced because each shot matters per trigger pull.
Also I go ham with the camando on controller. A lot of people have problems getting kills with it. Idk why. If anything it beats the BR always if you land all headshots. Which is why the camando is more satisfying to use
Yep, I’m trying to like the gun with KnM but I get out gunned with it. On controller, I have no issues with it.
Not arguing with you, but you might be interested in this post because it seems to disagree with your findings:

For your consideration.
I also gave my input in that post yesterday. He showed effort but it wasn’t real world testing he did. Really can’t compare my video with his, he did one input at a time and I did each input at the same time, side by side one for one.
So, I am curious. Since it was your friend that was on pc and not you, are you sure he isn’t messing with you? I run 4K 120Fps and 120 FOV and I lack that kind of aim assist.

Post sidenote: also seems like in the video you posted, it kind of seems like he may have aimbot.
Just my two cents, I use controller on PC and the Aim Assist feels fine; weirdly until shields pop. It seems to be all over the shop after that.
Most issues with the game are desync-related, personally.
I also have an XB1 though the game is basically unplayable even though its the same controller I’m using on both - there is definitely less AA. If it wasn’t for the fact it felt so sluggish I could almost use the XB1 as aim training as it is definitely weaker than I’ve ever known it having played all prior Halo games on console.
Not my friend, as mentioned in an earlier comment this is a PC player trying to prove that aim assist is too strong on Controller (via their PC). So yeah. They might be lying and I think we’re all aware that is plausible.
IMO if he really is using an aimbot to fabricate the results then that indicates the lengths some anti-console players will go in the name of MNK superiority.
Edit: Also, thank you for your test results
Yeah I’m having a tough time.
Though it’s “odd” that in campaign it’s fine and more noticeable.
I thought I’d get the hang of the aiming there, being forced to, and there were sections that really tested my nerves and aiming skills ( sentinel gondola section ).
However after completing it on Legendary ( first run ), I barely saw any improvement on my aim in MP.
you will deff see inprovement with higher frame rate tho. wether it 60fps from a series s or 120 series x or beyond with a pc. The betas were where i played on the OG xone and it was horrible. I thought i just completely lost my skill in halo haha. But when game released i tried it on my PC and it was a big difference. AA still felt weak but the overall aiming felt way more smooth and shots actually hit where i was shooting more often.
Now im on series x and it feels about the same as PC. PC did benefit from even higher frame rates but console has red reticle and feels more stable since games crashed on pc or the AA drop off bug. But even with 0 AA, aiming at higher fps made it still feel alot better than xbone
This game has ZERO competitive integrity and the HCS will be dead within a couple of years. No one wants to watch soft aim bots play off against each other. I’m sorry but it has to be said, if you play on controller the game is doing half the work for you. It’s that simple.
PC is a potato and I’ll only do Tactical Slayer on it.
On Xbone I’ll go 1-12 but on PC it’ll be 17-5 or so.
Will have to see when I could get my hands on an X series console, PC will have to do for now, recently bought a 3D printer.
Did you feel stronger aim assist with controller on pc than controller on Xbox?
Feels exactly the same to me. The only difference I notice is visually, the red crosshair on Xbox.
This person is probably messing with you. Some people called out aimbot but could also be just his hand moving. It looks like all 3 kills were with MK. The moment you even touch your controller you can see the hotkeys in the bottomright change to controller hotkeys, yet they stay on PC hotkeys for the duration of the entire clip.
The only aim assist PC has is the slowdown effect, I assume which is the same as on XBOX. You can also hit people when your reticle is slightly off, but since there is no red reticle I am unsure if this is due to bullet magnetism (while missing the visual feedback) or if the gun is just supposed to still hit at that range.

First few secs notice hotkeys.
First kill aim assist test controller
Second kill swapping between inputs, again notice hotkeys in bottom right.
Third/fourth kill aim assist test controller.
