Aim Assist is currently way too strong

The stats don’t matter.

Have you tried using a controller without bullet magnetism or aim assist?

These two inputs aren’t the same thing at all.

You can’t compare controller to mouse. It’s not possible to balance them for crossplay. These devs are smarter than you and they haven’t found a solution yet.

How can you say stats don’t matter? They do matter, it’s a clear vision that something is not right.

Yes, I have. Ever played PUBG on console? If not, it’s free to play so try it out. They even have a TDM mode if BR isn’t your thing. It has no aim assist whatsoever, it’s got the best gun play in any game by far. Even people who don’t like PUBG will admit it has the best gun play. It does just fine without any assist, it separates the skilled from the casuals.

Pubg is not the same game as halo. Weapon ttk is in the .2 second range.

That’s much faster than any halo game to date. In this game you have aim accurately for much longer. Like a full second at least.

Pubg has the option to turn aim assist off. Most people have it on because turning it off on controller puts you at a disadvantage.

I know that, but again it all goes hand in hand. It takes a lot less to get a kill but it also takes a lot less to be killed. PUBG still separates the skilled from the casuals because they opted to not use any assist at all. The only thing they did was reduced the recoil compared to PC.

This is Halo. Not Pubg.

Learn the difference. You have to play by Halo’s rules here. This elitist ideology isn’t going to win you games.

And frankly, it is getting on my nerves. If you were the elite that you’re claiming to be, why opt for a magnetism nerf on controller? What do you get out of that?

That doesn’t make any sense.

You’re just not seeing the point. I tried watching some HCS and it is just boring, why? Because I know most of the shots weren’t on target. Watch any of the games on YouTube and play the “highlighted” kills back at .25 speed. How is that exciting to watch.

Where did I ever claim to be an elite?

Again, with your last statement that just proves you are really not seeing the bigger picture. Balancing the game and making the inputs more fair and comparable is not about me.

I want to see some good players at this game while watching the HCS. It’s just boring to watch because I know most of their kills the game handed to them. Widen the skill gap by not allowing to game to correct their mistakes. I want to watch skilled players.

You’ll never get it, you’re just too stung up on your input of choice but don’t worry. 343i loves their casuals so your controller will never be at a disadvantage.

Oh quit crying and go play PUBG.

Truth hit home, huh?

90% sure I am going back to PUBG, and on console. That alone should tell you I’m not bias to an input or hardware.

You are biased. In your mind, you don’t care about fairness. You care about image.

And that elitist mindset can crawl itself back under the basement from which it came.

I’m done talking to you.

So to you, letting controller get rewarded for miss shots is fairness? Missed shots with MnK are exactly that, missed. Fairness to you? You must be part of the generation that got a trophy for just showing up.

Hmm, if you’re so about fairness then perhaps you need to accept the ONLY way to get close to that is to allow players to play against people on the same input method not force cross-play where it is never going to be a fair playing field whatever technology is in place. Never.

I get that but only to a point. Not saying it’s not valid but this is 343i’s game, and they are the ones who decided to make it crossplay day one.

Not only that, the HCS is crossplay. They’re allowing both inputs in HCS with the clear advantage they gave controller.

So like I said, 343i needs to speak up.

This isn’t even a debate.

Mice are designed to work without aim assist. Controller aren’t. End of story.

There’s no need for any nerf at all. Get better at the game.

I did not realise eSports had cross-play, that seems crazy to me.

They need to separate both inputs.

It’s stupid that they allowed this. They’ve got morons like him actually thinking theres a comp scene for crossplay when it’s clearly unbalanced.

I find it hard to believe that you’ve played the old games with that statement. Halo Infinite has way lower aim assist than all previous Halo’s… especially the old ones. Pretty much everyone agrees on that. It’s obviously by design to level the playing field of Crossplay. But it feels miserable at times and just not fun to play at all on controller.

Truth really hit home now, huh? Resorting to name calling, real mature.

Not scared to post my stats, you can even look them up yourself.

Solo/Duo KBM (and I only enter solo)
Platinum 6
1.02 KD
818 Kills
803 Deaths
43.7 Shot Accuracy
42.8 HS Accuracy
53 Games
4 DNF due to game crashing

Now if you look at my crossplay rank, all but one game was play with MnK, I think it’s pretty obvious what game was played on controller. I used a controller to prove a point to a guy I was playing with. I played the first game with controller and then the last two games with MnK, we only played three games of crossplay ranked that day, but the controller game I went…

28 Kills
11 Deaths
2.55 KD

Still not ranked in crossplay because I only played a hand full of games.

Believe what you want, I have montages of Halo 2 and Halo 3 on my old YouTube channel when that was a thing. But again, it’s not the aim assist I’m on about. Getting tired of repeating myself.

eSports has crossplay for multiple games, not just Halo. The difference is the other games work and are balanced.

I don’t believe it, I played it extensively, so I know. I don’t know if it’s your thread, but I’m not arguing about controller vs MnK. Just aim assist in general. The game feels terrible compared to Halo 1-4 in terms of aiming. I didn’t make this up, the internet is flooded with those complaints.
