So many posts complaining about the lack of aim assist when aim exist very much does exist and its strong you just suck, dial in your settings and just get better. Almost every pro M&K player is swapping to controller and not a single Pro Controller player is swapping to M&K, controller is far superior.
The main reason you probably think there isn’t aim assist is due to the lack of bullet magnetism which means you actually have to land your shots instead of just shooting near someone like in most previous halo’s especially from Reach onwards.
Aim Assist is a necessary thing for console
Always has been
You can’t get rid of it and it has already been massively toned down from other halo’s
Halo, has always been a console game and thusly always been a controller game, prehaps its simply that all of the pro players have been using controller so long that its simply what they are used to
We’ve got 50% of players saying AA is too strong
We’ve got 50% of players saying AA doens’t exist
Sounds to me like they got it right?
Hyperbolic statements like “It exists and its strong you just suck” do very little for your argument, in fact it detracts from it to the point it makes it moot
Personally, I think there should be a way to disable crossplay not just cross input but cross platform
As it stands now you can only opt out of cross input corssplay meaning you can select to only vs M&K players but those players can be either on pc or on console or you can select to vs only controller players but they can be either on pc or on console
Keep that as an option, but also give us the option to slect to only play console or only play pc players as well
That is the only way you will solve this issue
Judging by your reply you clearly didn’t read the op…
I’m not saying get rid of Aim Assist I’m saying its already there and its good.
Most Pro FPS players that have almost exclusively always used M&K are swapping to Controller for Infinite because its superior. Its hardly hyperbolic when we have all the evidence from the pro scene saying that aim assist does in fact exist and its very good and are changing their input device because of it.
Judging by this reply, you clearly didn’t read mine?
I never said AA didn’t exist, I simply pointed out that its vastly reduced from previous titles in the halo series (which it is) and that AA is a necessity for console controller inputs (which it also is)
How many “pro” halo players have used M&K in past halos
None of the “pro” halo players are switching form M&K to controller…they’ve been using controllers the literal entire time H2-H5
No where did you specify not “pro halo players” you simply said pro M&K players
Maybe part of the problem is they aren’t halo players
Just because you are a pro COD players does not instantly mean you are going to be a pro halo player or even a good pro halo player…
Could be they are simply not used to the halo mechanics which is why they are having issues or perceive the AA to be too strong
We are probably just going to go around in circles at this point I feel
Personally as a Controller player I feel that the AA is just about right think its balanced pretty good, its massively reduced from other titles but there is enough that I can hit my shots consistantly and maintain between 50-60% accuracy most games
I feel like its in a good spot
I rebuke people who say its too strong and I rebuke people who say it doesn’t exist
You know in the current comp scene for infinite there are just as many people (if not more rn) competing that weren’t playing halo comp prior to Infinite right? Then even then if you disregard this fact why would exclusive M&K players go to a new game/franchise to compete in comp and also swap to an input they don’t typically use?..
Aim Assist is mostly fine as it is but when we have the vast majority of the comp players that don’t typically use controller all using controller it definitely says that it does exist, its good and that the players complaining about it not existing/being really bad either just have no idea what they are talking about or suck.
The aim assist is incredibly strong. The Halo 2 “swipe snipe” being as effective as it is in Infinite is a dead giveaway, but it’s super noticeable with the Sidekick and Battle Rifle as well.
Yea AA in infinite particularly excels with midrange, doesn’t help that Console players still get red reticle to indicate viable range whilst PC doesn’t.
I’m just happy AA at least isn’t complete Auto Aim like it is in Apex/CoD etc.
I had matches there were AA but in other matches i don’t had AA. It feels like a Bug or so . When i had AA ,then this was strong, but i don’t had it, it was hard to kill . Its confusing
As long as the game is fun and feels fair, it doesn’t matter how the actual back end of the game works. Most of these under the hood systems are difficult to notice when they are working properly. It’s only when they don’t work right that they are a noticeable problem. The only issue I’ve ever had with aim assist is when I am shooting at one player and another player walks bye and pulls my aim off. I’ve not noticed this happening in infinite yet. So far the game feels good and plays good for me.
I haven’t seen a single person say aim assist doesn’t exist. It very much does. It’s just super inconsistent. You can tell when it goes out mid game. And usually it won’t return till you hard reset. As for it being strong that too is also inconsistent. I’ve noticed it’s sometime stronger with a base Xbox controller. Scuf not so much. It’s also sometimes stronger on Xbox vs PC. But from what I’ve experienced on both my PC and Series X is it’s just inconsistent and doesn’t always work. There is definitely something affecting the aim. And it’s most likely a bug. Should be patched soon
I’ve honestly only seen one or two people/ threads on the forums saying it was “strong.” So I’m not sure where you’re getting 50% saying it’s too strong from. Those number are probably closer to 10 - 90 or 20 - 80 at best. With larger percentage agreeing it’s inconsistent and just doesn’t work most of the time.
I also don’t personally know anyone who thinks aim assist is too strong. The core group I play with and those I know but don’t play with much all agree it just doesn’t work majority of the time. When it does work its definitely noticeable. But it’s not that strong by an means.
These of course are all personal observations. I have played on my Series X as well and I have noticed aim assist seems to work a little more often than PC but even that is only 10 - 20% of the time at best. Currently I’ve managed to dial in my settings to let me over come this inconvenience. But even still it’s extremally noticeable and frustrating when it just doesn’t work at all and I’m having to constantly rest my game.
