I always played on high sens and i don’t want to learn low sens, i don’t like it.
All other FPS games have settings for ppl like me and you but not in Halo, it is a game only for ppl who likes low sens…
No, aim assist VERY strong in infinite. I think the way to make the game more enjoyable for both controller and mouse and keyboard is to allow them to queue separate from each other in unrank and rank. Increasing aim assist doesnt solve anything other than making the game easier for bad players. If they increase the aa and leave things as they are itll just force the pc community to have to sweat even harder to compete with the aa. Sure m&k has an advantage in speed and precision but halo for the most part isn’t a game that relies on one shots, but instead consistency and aa gives controller players the ability to be extremely consistent. Also if they allow m&k and controller to queue in rank they should disable aa, a competitive game mode shouldnt have mechanics that assist players, if you want that play unrank.
None of this would be an issue if they just made crossplay optional across all modes.
I agree, what I said is that the breath is reduced. In other words, it’s like the sensitivity only ranges from 3 to 6 of previous titles. I’ve tested max turn speed, and it is identical for sensitivity settings over 5… And it is barely perceptibly slower on lower sensitivities than 5… Also, all of the testing used max acceleration, max input thresholds, and minimal deadzones. It’s effectively like the sensitivity setting does nothing to effect your max aim speed…
I don’t understand how people think aim assist is strong, it’s practically non existent on console. Are people confused because or that Pc only bug where aim assist gets nuts when playing with a controller while having a mouse plugged in? That’s not how aim assist is on console.
If only all the pro fps players weren’t all putting down their M&K in favour of controller because its way better. You either suck or you haven’t configured your controller settings properly.
Show us the video proof you have.

Having trouble posting a direct link, so you’ll have to close the spaces I put.
But the video shows that the aim assist in the game only activates under three criteria. 1. The player must be strafing. 2. The player must have their reticle constantly trained on their target, any deviation at all will break aim assist. 3. The enemy must be within red reticle range. If any of these three criteria aren’t met, then aim assist will just not work whatsoever.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Using higher look sensitivity means you have to learn to play in a different way, it’s a totally different style of aiming and thumbstick movement. On lower sensitivity you have to move the stick for a longer period of time to get the same distance of crosshair movement in game, but on higher sensitivity you need less and less stick movement to get the same result. It forces you to learn how to be a flick shooter, and if you aren’t good at flick aiming then you will have a hard time on higher sensitivity. And then if you’re like me and you’ve used fast look sensitivity for the last 15 years, playing a game with slow look sensitivity is a really big shock. I can’t aim at anything, I can’t track very well, I can’t turn very well. Because the sensitivity I’m accustomed to isn’t available on controller input for Halo Infinite. Even though it is in every other console shooter… it’s as if you’ve played Halo for the last 20 years on 3 sensitivity, then suddenly you switch to 10 and can’t aim or turn right or do anything right. I need my sensitivity to be a setting I can actually pick in Infinite. It’s basically an accessibility setting.
uhh… my first ever match I went 19 and 0. Still felt like total -Yoink!- to move around and aim, turn and pick up guns. It sucks
Aim assist is just completely broken. Though it does sound like Steam version got a fix today. Hope the Xbox game pass version gets a fix soon for both Xbox and PC players.
Halo Infinites Controller Aim
Should be as enjoyable as the past 20 years of Halo, but its not.
Microadjustments send my aim flying way over enemies. I don’t find the aiming smooth as it was before, as it is in other shooters. Doesn’t matter my sensitivity, acceleration and deadzones, I’ve literally spent three hours trying to find a good setting, but it barely makes a difference. It’s as if it hits max input immediately.
