^this guy gets it
this is not a skill gap issue, it’s as if there is no aim assist or bullet mag whatsoeever for controller. which almsot every console shooter has: COD, Battlefield, Gears, every halo (especially Halo 3), you can’t treat keyboard and mouse as equavalent to controller.
whaaa? dude, this is probably the most difficult sniper i have ever used.
guess i am just terrible? lol
This is just a case of adapt and overcome my guy. I’ve been playing Halo since 2006 and personally I had no issues adjusting. I had problems in the flight, but after they adjusted how aiming on controller works since launch, I’ve been doing pretty well.
Am I missing something?
My small aim adjustments send the crosshairs flying wildly and I’m at Horizontal 1.5 and vertical 6.5.
Deadzones close to zero on all points.
Maybe I should try a different controller…
People complained about the aim assist on controller being too low to play enjoyably in the flights, and they haven’t changed it at all. I’m playing on the same settings, and it’s still bad. I wonder why 30k players already stopped playing since launch.
But that’s 343 for you. “Here at 343, we hear your feedback loud and clear.”
Same here. The only way the game was made playable to me also made me too slow to turn around. There needs to be a larger variance in movement and aim assist needs bumped up.
The Aim Assist for me is not a problem (i can play without it).
The real problem is sensitivity. If u compare look speed on M&K vs max sensitivity on controller you will see HUGE diference! Controller is so slow… The game is unplayable for me and all of my friends from Apex Legends.
By feel alone it seems to me that the difference between controller and MKB is less pronounced in Infinite than in MCC.
The only place MKB noobs…sorry…MKB players have a massive advantage is with the Sidekick at long range (side kick range needs a nerf imo) and with warthog turrets (turret seems to rotate far slower with controller at any given sensitivity). Ofc sniper rifle has advantage mouse as well.
I do miss the little icons telling me who’s on MKB and who’s on controller.
EDIT: also, I’m not a high-ELO competitive player but on socials / BTB I regularly top the scoreboard with my lowly controller so if a casual like me can do it so can you.
I play on 6 and I still usually get the most kills in the game. Perhaps you just need to improve?
It is absolutely the most difficult sniper in Halo history, but it felt better to use than the Skewer. I’d take the Reach or 3 sniper over this one in any situation.
Did you ever play with 10? If not, 10 sensitivity on Infinite is about 6 on previous titles… It’s like they reduced the overall breadth of the sensitivity settings, and I have no idea why… It wasn’t like this in the flights.
It absolutely feels extremely different from the flights and other Halo games. I don’t know exactly what they did, or if this is a intentional design or a bug, but it needs to be reverted ASAP.
I’m just not having these issues you are and I play on 6. I nail most of my headshots with the sniper. Trying not to be rude, but I’m really thinking you just need to improve.
I’ve always been not that great at sniping in Halo, but this sniper just straight up feels worse than older ones in Halo. I can’t exactly tell what’s off about it, but it barely feels like the snipers I’m most used to, those being H3, ODST’s, Reach’s and H4’s snipers. I suppose it does just boil down to “git gud lol” but it does go a little deeper than that, skill in Halo typically transfers from game to game, and it seems like this one doesn’t have that on the same level as others. Could just be me, but I’m not the only one who feels like this game is off in more than a few ways.
No, I feel like even 3 is faster than I used in previous Halos, and there I was around the default, slightly higher.
Small adjustment send the aim wildly flying.
The controllers have a huge advantage over mouse and keyboard with bullet magnetism. Not sure what you all are on about.
Lots of people saying there’s nothing wrong with it yet players like Frosty can’t properly track a strafing opponent with a br- I’d say that’s a problem.
So at this point I’m back to wondering if it’s a glitch. Because I’ve seen videos of people not even touching the controls and getting perfects on every kill back to back. In the tech preview I was trying to nail this down by platform and Xbox variant but now there’s too many pieces to the puzzle it’s hard to say. To those that are saying the aiming is fine I’m happy for you I suggest you play and have fun for the rest of us that feel that the aim is absolutely useless. No lie I quit playing and I don’t miss anything. 343 please pay attention to this.
Understood.
I have my xbox on my desk connected to my monitor. Made the switch after 20 years on a TV, wish I could have done it sooner.
At the moment the biggest issue for me is balancing my settings so that I can turn and change direction quickly but not have my sticks so sensitive that I can’t aim accurately.
First step was removing all deadzones and increasing aim acceleration to max so that there’s no delay or random acceleration when using the sticks. My stick now do feel a lot more responsive and consistent.
I’ve turned my sensitivity up slightly from the default setting of 5 (think I have mine at 7) but am thinking of turning it back down again as I’m missing those final headshots way more often than I’d like.
What sensitivity setting is everyone else using?
I’ve seen some people complaining that the sensitivity is too low even when turned up to the maximum - these people must have way better hand eye coordination than I do lol
