Aim assist and bullet magnetism too high

The crosshair wasn’t even near the opponents head, but it still counted as a headshot:

I think the aim assist and magnetism needs to be lowered. It almost reminds me of Halo 4. I don’t understand how this game is considered a competitive shooter when you don’t even need to aim the reticle at the head for it to be considered a headshot.

H5 has very little to no aim assist. It does however have a decent sized hitbox making it so you don’t have to hit someone’s head dead on.

I get “headshots” like that all the time & I feel dirty because I know that I should have missed & when I pause in theater I can see the bullet tracer not going straight at all.

Bullet magnetism is pretty heavy in this game for sure.

bullet magnetism and aim assist are two different mechanics

you should watch the sprint vidocs where they explain how the aiming cone works

@ UEG ShadowAngel - Did you watch the second link? The bullets bend towards the opponent when the reticle gets near them.

I agree it does seem like that sometimes but equally sometimes I feel like I can’t get a lock on the opposition at all.

Do you think Latency has it’s part to play in this debate?

LOL. Did you watch the video? He missed the sniper shot by a mile and he still got the headshot.

I’d like to watch that video, can you link it??

The game also moves your crosshair for you >> http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj189/thesuicidefox/Halo5_autoaim_zpsjvssmh4h.gif

I did not even know the second guy was there (the one that jumped) and did not touch my control stick at all to move it. That was the game moving my crosshair for me. I’ve never seen this in any game besides Halo. Why does the game move my crosshair for me?! It’s so frustrating and stupid.

The magnetism could maybe use a tad tweak…maybe. But the low aim assist is fine as it currently is.

Same here. I see “bullet magnetism” maybe, but not aim assist. If it’s there, it’s not assisting me. I suck.

But sniper rifles and DMRs seem to increase the area when you can get headshots… When I get kills with those, they’re usually headshots.

Scope and zoom on these long range weapons probably allow for the reticle to be smaller than the headshot box, making it “easier” to get a headshot. Versus other weapons where the hit box is smaller than the reticle, so you have to have a more centered shot to get a head shot in.

Bullet magnetism be inconsistent in 5. I be swearing I landed a headshot but it doesn’t count and other times where I pretty sure I missed, get counted as a headshot.

Aim assist should be lower imo. It kills me when I have multiple targets in front of me, 1 severely weak, and I can’t finish cuz other enemies keeps jump by. It snaps so strongly to the other person that it’s a struggle to finish them and like they said, slow down your aiming when snapped. As if aim acceleration is already slow, trying to break away from the snapping makes the whole thing fell wonky. Then there’s deadzones…

Also already knew why the hell I get shot around a corner often… Magnetism.

Clearly head-seeking bullets have just rolled out of the UNSC’s foundries and onto the battlefield. So that’s why I am suddenly MLG in SWAT.

The hit boxes have been huge since halo 4. I feel like this is the reason it was removed from mlg tournaments. It’s just hard to be competitive with bullets that track that much. Couple that with some bad spawning and maps set up for assault rifles and it just becomes a game of who can get the first shot. It’s so close to being on par with halo 3 for me.

Agree on bullet magnetism. Too many times I’ve shot and been shot by bullets going around corners.

I don’t have to whatch as I know how h5 plays. Yes it has bullet magnetism, I addressed the aim assist as there is literally almost no aim assist. Aim assist has nothing to do with his bullets shoot… I also said h5 hotboxes are quite large, so you don’t need to be accurate to get headshots, the bullet magnetism makes it more noticeable.

LOL. Do I need to watch it? What I mentioned earlier (hitboxes) means you don’t need to be accurate to get headshots. Plain and simple.

looking for it, but to summarize the aiming cone is a combination of your crosshairs and the hit boxes, as long as they are overlapping your bullets will hit, its not necessarily magnetism it just compensates for latency and the higher frame rate.

That’s lag I think you will find not bullet magmatism.
