Aight halo infinite armor customization

So far the most we currently know of halo infinite’s armor customization is that it will be closely resembling halo reach and the way that that game handled unlocking armor sets (credit based unlocks) while I agree this is the best way to go about unlocking armor I still believe it is important that there are highly desirable sets/pieces of armor unlocked through achievements, the way halo 3 did things, if there isn’t then halo infinite’s armor customization will be as watered down as halo 5’s in my opinion simply because there is no true distinction between (this guys has that armor so he’s gotta be hard core) and (this guy has this armor so he’s clearly just played the game a lot) ‘hope that makes sense’. Furthermore I’d like to see better, more personalized detailing in the armor we equipped, things such as decals or some sort of painter featured would carry the feeling of this is my armor a long way, to expand on that I also think the emblem editor should be completely open in how you put emblems together ‘think cod black ops 2’s emblems’ sure this poses the problem of explicit emblems being made, under the correct guideline and punishment for doing so I think people would avoid doing exactly that. The last thing I wanted to touch on is just how much of the armor you can change, halo 5 has the weakest customization in halo history by far and that says a lot considering halo CE was literally only colors, while reach had the most in depth customization. From helmet to armor effects halo reach’s armor made you feel unique every step of the way, so why not take that a step further in infinite and provide not only each individual section of your armor to be changed but also it’s orientation and how it fits your spartan. Hopefully this wasn’t too long thank you to anyone who Takes the time to read this full thread and comment your thoughts and opinions on halo infinite’s armor customization.

I just hope 343 takes the dope GOOD armor they made and remake it, like a more classic Venator. That would be sick.

I think a credit system from reach would be the best option. From there I think unlocking armor through achievements (campaign, challenges, multiplayer, competitive achievements) would be a fantastic step forward. Many fans want the grind and especially grinds they can do with friends. Going back to the classic art style gives 343 a great opportunity to introduce new and different cosmetic items for people to play for (not buy).

I agree they have some awesome armor or prices that I hope make the jump to gen3: recruit, war master helmet, hellcat, Achilles, raijin, atlas, hell jumper, hunter, Warrior, Anubis helmet, foehammer, teishin, soldier helmet, shinobi.

To address the original topic I hope they have the combined customization options of halo reach and 4 with a credit based unlock system. That way you can play whatever you want to get the armor you want. If they set up some achievement based unlocks I hope it’s only tied to the campaign. The multiplayer ones change how people play in a negative way.

Well they said in the past that if you liked Reach’s customizations, you’ll love Halo Infinite’s. Plus considering Blue Team’s Gen 3 armor resembling the Gen 1 design (as it’s said to use more favorable features from those times), it’s safe to assume the armor customizations will be much more extensive than Halo 5’s. As for unlocking it, I wouldn’t mind credits returning and beating past halo titles on legendary like they did for some customizations in Reach. Emblems, maybe we could have the option to have multiple emblems like our personal, and our Spartan Company’s (Edward Buck had 3 different emblems on his Gen 2 Helljumper armor, 2 Osiris emblems, an ODST emblem and a V for Veronica).

I really dig the personal and spartan company emblem on the armor idea.

I really do hope they bring Achilles back to Halo Infinite but make it more Roman Spartan looking

See. Now of they do bring back old armor I hope they don’t do what they did in halo 5. Having armor that had bits of white or in rogues case (im personally annoyed because I loved the rogue armor in H4) they made it checkered. Now of they are going to do that please give us the option of that design or not. They ruined good armor by doing that in my opinion. And as for Customization, what you said was amazing about it. I just hope we can go further than that. Lets bring back the utility and arm brace, those addes to how cool and unique your Spartan is. Me personally, I want to go into depth with my Spartan let us change everything about our Spartan. For example. In halo 4 we could change our forearms. And in reach we could change our kneepads. Yeah too much detail in a Spartan can make it look confusing but thats the fun part for us. Let us customize everything about or Spartan including the under suit (i liked the look of H5s under suit minus it being super bright.) Let us choose if we want it like the old halos or halo 5s just less bright please. And if possible if they do bring back old arm please let them have the little lights like they use to from 3 (i can’t remember if reach had that or not) it made them nostalgic in a sense. Sorry if understanding this was confusing and what I hope they do with the customization and armors. Besides that I agree with what everyone here asks for.

Many of the armors in Halo 5 look great. But most of the helmets, not so much. Of the dozens of helmets, I can count the ones that I like on one hand.

By referring to the customization are they actually referring to credits though ? Last I heard there was going to be a battle pass.

They could also have armor be unlocked by doing specific achievements. If you complete all of them, you get a special armor set which is only unlockable that way. It would be pretty cool, as long as it isn’t like Halo 5’s. I want to work for my armor and use the ones I want, not to get something that has a 20% chance to actually be what I want.

My main hope is that the customisation menu is clean and easy to use.

In particular Id like to see more compartmentalisation of the armour piece permutations. If they are going to have individual skin decals and attachments and other variations, I don’t want to be met with 100+ options to scroll through when opening the Mark VI helmet option.

Or potentially, they could make it so that in the base customisation menus, you would select the Mark VI helmet, but then you ‘hold X’ to open up a sub menu which would allow you to further customise each piece with attachments and skins. These could be mostly modular and interchangeable, and some exclusive to that specific piece.

This way they could greatly expand what customisation options we have to play with, without bogging it all down in one massive menu.

But leaning into what OP was saying, they could use this split menu to decide the unlocks across several platforms. Base armour sets could be bought through a credit system, while attachments, skins, and the like, are unlocked through commendations, achievements, challenges and so forth.
