AI

why is the AI so stupid? none of them are useful in any situation…

If the friendly AI wasn’t stupid then people would let the AI do all the work.

Give a Marine a Spartan Laser and you’ll see why they’re not designed to be as effective.

Not only that, but the enemies are designed to hold down one area at a time, whereas allies are capable of following you. Their pathfinding keeps changing.

You grab a programming book and fix it then.

Then why bother including the AI at all?
Perhaps they could leave the friendly AI team on difficulty Normal regardless of what the user chooses.

The issue I have with the AI is that they are beyond stupid. They have been programmed with one simply function that the user can command them to do - GO TO. You put down a waypoint and they are supposed to go there. Somehow when I play though, they never do. They are always in the way, being troublesome, and they are in no way helpful.

When they revive you they stand out in the pen instead of moving a step or two into cover or possibly even crouching.
When I’m sitting there in ADS trying to get along range shot half the time they step in front of it as if they had no clue I was there shooting and then have the nerve to complain about it.

It’s as if the coders of Blue Team and Team Osiris have never played Halo or an FPS in their lives. It’s shameful because you can see all the work that went into all the other AIs that you are forced to fight in the game and it seems your team was a back burner idea at best. They probably created campaign as a 4 player online game mode only and then as an afterthought added in solo play and the 3 AI to mirror their original ideas.
— To further the point of the campaign AI and their uselessness, take a look at the Marines and other AI in multiplayer and how effective and useful they can be.

In any case, the AI is among the worst I’ve seen in a game and by far the worst Halo AI - friend or foe - to grace the franchise.

I could overlook the AI and all their inadequacies if the story telling were good and the gameplay were balanced across the difficulties but it’s not.

Good job 343.
