i think it would be awesome if 343 makes it so… you have a few game modes where you have a few ai spawning at the beginning of the match… maybe with a couple of respawns or whatever. this would make the gameplay so much diffrent, espesially with maps with vehicle warfare, or capture the flag with defending the base. i think this is also something never happend before and halo with the way the game works is perfect for using this in its gameplay.
maybe the marines aren’t as smart or strong… but when yourre driving the vehicle… there better then having a player on the side /back of the warthog. and this count’s for every vehicle actually.
and if they really want to make it crazy with infinite, a game mode where you have a arena an you sit on the passenger seat of a vehicle, (you name which one) and try to be the last one left, lets say halo 3 driving style… whahahaa
but no serious, opinions, would this be a good thing for infinite?
Well when the Anniversary edition came out it had some DLC for Reach, one of them was a firefight map that had ODST NPCs. I liked to try UNSC vs covenant firefight modes on that removing all elites from the spawn so that only players were Elites. Of course it didn’t take long for them to eliminate all the ODSTs. I would have like to have some grunts and ODSTs in invasion too.
So if we are going to throw AI into infinite well lets keep it context of cannon (unless we are going to combat sim, or civil war story the narrative). So naturally UNSC vs Covenant (with maybe some flood/Promethean jungle areas). So here is my ultimate Warzone concept for Infinite.
Basically everyone spawns in a drop ship (either Pelican for UNSC or Phantom for Covenant). They all approached landing zones which are contestable hills but do belong to a faction. Once taken that factions drop ships comes in on intervals bringing in NPCs, re-spawning players, weapons storage and structures to essentially turn it into a base (Landing Zone, Camp, Base). Of course these base/camps could be captured or destroyed (such as the covenant sniper towers) in which after the NPCs start to transform the captured camp into something that resembles more of their faction. These drop ships can also be intercepted and shot down, it won’t kill any of the respawning players but the NPCs may kick the bucket (sort of like the first level on halo ring). Also there should be some power abilities such as call in an airdrop for weapons, or a Longsword/Sereph bombing run (just imagining Sereph needle bombs), hey the UNSC target designator was pretty cool, I think the covenant should get a purging designator that calls up a continuous beam that you could use up in one swoop or a few shot burst, but not for long time as it should run out after several seconds. As for the dropship war above down below have these not-so-natural-formation caves and tunnels that players would have to work to unlock and sort of open up new and surprising ways to enemy held landing zones, but be careful as you may unlock a room full of Flood or trigger some Sentinels/Prometheans and they might be gain attacking you and your landing zones instead of your enemies.
