AI in forge

Can someone go on twitter and ask josh holmes or someone from 343i about AI in forge. A lot of people want to play around and i could entertain myelf like this forever. Look at how popular gamercheat13 has become messing around with AI. Anyone got any details?

I would love it, but it seems like it would be impossible (not to mention time consuming) to implement from a technical standpoint. Matching all of the different character movements with the terrain you place them on would be an extremely difficult task.

People have been asking for this since Halo 2, if it was something 343 wanted in Forge at all, we’d have had it in Halo by now…

Farcry 3 did it, and that had an entire terrain editor. But I wouldn’t expect it in Forge.

In the long run point of view it would prove useful if people enjoy Halo 5 vs the newer versions that may come out since the multiplayer would eventually disappear and the only reason to replay it would be campaign.

Shouldn’t we expect more, not less. They did have a long time. They scripted AI in warzone, why not forge?

I don’t know about that, seems like a dream

AI in Forge sounds like one of those things that looks easy to implement but is probably hard to do.

Did you even see the forge reveal? If thats not morw I’ll eat my pants.
AI in forge would be nice, but I feel it would only be possible on forge maps without structure on them. In case people dont know, AI need a navmesh to navigate certain areas. Thats why when gamecheat does it, its always a section from a campaign/spartan ops mission, or a custom map altogether.
It would take too much memory to generate one, especially to accomodate every type of enemy. Some run up walls or fly, which would take MORE memory. On a prebuilt map, thats fine, but far cry 4 takes a minute to download its maps for a reason.

Just look at the way pokemon does it, its simple but in reality you have to script where they move, how far they move, what other movements they could do, reaction upon player, (Halo and other games ) hit detection on ai, ai reaction towards death.

Its more, but when i say more i mean breaking the boundaries of the new generation and implementing some pretty crazy -Yoink- that moders can make happen. The new tools in forge just keep better for forgers and that is more. And i love it. But making your own little forgeable playgroud or firefight map would just be like a wow factor that would create endless possibilities. And when gamercheat13 messes around with AI they seem pretty cabable to me. Hiding be cover they find in the environment. Truly i would never need firefight or spartan ops if this was in the game. Its the 3rd mode that could keep players interested and help Halo’s life span.

Considering all the things they had to do in order to get the AI to stick to certain areas, act properly and so just for the Warzone maps. Highly unlikely for now. I think they even said there won’t be AI in forge somewhere.I don’t recall where though.

Well considering AI’s need a set path to go even if its random, it still needs to have a path to follow, and the community will make new maps on forge, there would be alot of pathing errors and stuff for the AI.

this

You guys are so single minded it would be so easy to do this in forge u just assign marker point for each Npc on the map to show it where it can walk it would just be time consuming for the forger
