AI Enemies Color Discriminatory?

So a tank, a wraith, and I walk into a crowd of Prometheans. 70% of the Prometheans aim for me. Is it because I’m wearing brightly colored armor, or is there some sort of weird programming that makes them constantly aim for softer and/or more aggressive targets?

No, this is (weirdly enough) an actual question. In firefight, enemies will often randomly switch their fire to me even if I’m not the one shooting at them and there are more immediate enemies. I want to know why they do this.

Well I guess smchange your colors and see if it still happens. They might try to kill ground units first because they usually don’t stand a chance against tanks anyway.

I don’t know how the AI are programmed, but I’d chalk it up to tactics.

Let’s think about evenly matched competitors for a second, and imagine we have three Red Spartans fighting three Blue Spartans. Let’s say that each Blue Spartan fires on a different Red Spartan, while all three of the Red Spartans focus their fire on the same target. The three Red Spartans will kill a Blue Spartan before any Blue Spartan kills a Red Spartan. The Reds are more effective because they focus their fire: they kill enemy players faster, but more importantly, they take less damage from enemy players because of that.

So let’s consider the case of AI-controlled enemies fighting a tank, a wraith, and a Spartan. If they all focus their fire on the same target, they’ll kill it faster and have less opposition to deal with. If they focus their fire on the weakest target, they’ll take damage from stronger enemies, but they’ll still reduce the enemy team’s overall damage output faster. You’re the most valuable target precisely because you’re the weakest: they can get you out of the way faster.

Yes.
