Did anyone else get mad at the AI teammates while playing the campaign?
Yes. There have been multiple occasions where an AI (Usually Tanaka for some odd reason) will stand beside me and watch me die. Very rage-inducing but I’m glad I finished the Campaign. I probably won’t do it again unless I’m with friends.

I noticed the same thing… Buck would book it to get to me in time (often dying in the process), but Tanaka would stop beside me and not help me as my timer ran out. I’ve taken to playing cautiously to not get dropped so I don’t have to try to rely on them. There’s also the issue that you can order them to pick up a weapon, and they’ll fire a couple shots out of it and then switch to their second weapon and never touch it again. Each time I’m wanting to yell at them, “NO! you’re the Sniper! I just told you to pick up a Binary Rifle! Why are you using your pistol from way back here?!”
However, they’re really good at “go over there” orders. Personally, rather than relying on them to revive me, I send them out to be a distraction, to attack an enemy from the other side so it turns its back to me. That usually gets me through encounters pretty easily.
They’re also a nearly infinite improvement over Noble Team from Halo Reach. Remember them? Emile thought his shotgun was a Sniper Rifle, Kat couldn’t see a cliff without driving off it, George was never where he’d be most useful, and Carter … was forgettable (I seriously don’t remember having any praises or complaints about him).
Yeah they were rather annoying and unhelpful especially when I was attempting to finish the campaign on legendary. They must be distantly related to Kat.

Yep. I raged a few times. They are about as annoying as Kat was back in Reach.
well, yes multiple times when i tried to save them but after i got bored saving them every few seconds because they dont use cover it started to break immersion since the teammates died and returned a bit later, even after falling into nothingness. And they seemed a bit handless if i didnt constantly give them orders and when i tried to order them to pick up a weapon, the one picking it was usually the wrong one (the one that already had a good gun). And even though they are supposed to be spartans, they couldnt pick up heavy weapons (even for a while before they couldnt progress with it when they could have dropped them) like machine gun. Now, after I saw them in battle i didnt really give them a chance to get behind wheels, well, not in the same vehicle where I was but their driving seemed moderate like the usual marines in older games but sometimes they were able to wreck their own vehicles even faster than the marines in previous installments (though at least it was better driving than Kat’s). Now, I could much rather have gotten something like the noble team that is not constantly breathing to your neck and can handle themselves without constant reviving if there had to be team. But mostly I prefer just marines who, like the noble team, had some great comments on basically everything that used to be one of those little things that made the gameplay more enjoyable. Even the little conversations between them like the sarge and dubbo in Halo 2. But unlike the noble team. They werent immortal so getting them through alive felt like something meaningful and like somekind of accomplishment. They were the ones outnumbered but always had their spirit and will to fight that got me to practise perfect ways of keeping them all alive.
Sometimes the AI will do ridiculous things… However…
I found them very helpful / useful / fun on Halo 5 legendary campaign once I figured out how to use them. If I call out the logical target (usually closest, or the most accessible) my teammates provided amazing support. I would only have to offer a couple of the many shots to take down an elite and it just felt awesome ‘working together’.
I’ve beat all Halo on legendary many times, and Halo 5 had the best ‘flow’ once I figured it out. I played through the campaign on normal alone, and strongly disliked the story (lore fan in general). Easily the worst Halo ever. However, co-op, or legendary solo with AI teammates, I quite enjoyed the rhythm of this game.

??? As flawed as Halo 5’s teams are, I’d always choose them over Noble Team. Halo 5’s Spartans’ are still useful, whereas Noble Team’s immortality is useless because they never do anything that significantly helpful outside of cutscenes.
I’d rank their usefulness:
1: Blue Team
2: Osiris
3: ODSTs
4: Marines
5: Noble Team
They certainly weren’t perfect but they were the best AI squadmates we’ve had in a Halo game yet, and I don’t want to complain too much about them because I desperately want to see more of Blue Team in H6 - remove the squad mechanic and Blue Team probably takes on a very minor role in the story. (Even more minor than they did in H5.)

the teams in H5g are useless in a sense that they seem to fight even worse than marines when you dont give them commands, they are usually downed in few seconds on harder difficulties and pretty much just die a lot (especially they seem to die of falling in sunaion sometimes even by failing a jump) and that breaks the immersion more for me than the immortality for even the dead wont stay dead. Now the usefulness of the noble team over the teams in H5g was their position as distraction and bullet-shields in addition that they weakened the enemies usually by destroying the shields at least but in some missions (like the beach in long night of solace) they seemed to be quite lethal even. Now the 2 of those can be performed by team in H5g but they couldnt be much of s bullet-shields or as effective distraction given that they go down pretty quickly and you have to run back and forth reviving them. Now, otherwise i could think of them as the marines (except for the annoying reviving) but they seem quite boring compared to the original marines. And i could rank the teams as follows:
1: ODST’s/Marines
2: NOBLE-team
3: Blue-team/team-osiris

Nevermind, sorry I said anything. Forgot who I was talking to. Our perceptions of Halo 5 are incompatible, and I don’t want a never-ending argument.

well, even if they are incompatible, at least we get some good points and multiple differing opinions. But sure, there is no need to discuss only by this only one thing by 2 people mostly.
Some games I run into issues or other inconveniences even on Easy, but has anyone else experienced them run away from you and the combat zone like grunts when you go down for some reason?
Anyone else get a problem where the AI companions only use their secondary weapons? They have their sniper rifles or their DMRs on their backs but only use their pistols in combat. its starting to bug me and I can’t find any solutions online.
Yep happened to me lots of times was annoying on legendary finally stopped caring and stopped reviving them had better luck with them dead than alive lol would even rush them to the enemies

This is valid point. I HATE what they did to lore, but as a game… Not bad.
Yes very much! Especially on legendary! They sometimes just stood there and were like nah you can die.
HAHAHAHAHAhahaha Yes… Yes in deed!
