Today I was playing some Halo: CE (Anniversary, not that it really matters), and it kind of dawned upon me as I no-scoped a grunt (I know, MLG material right there >_>).
I laughed.
Interesting… I may be sentimental, but as the grunt flopped, and the others ran away mumbling gibberish, I couldn’t help but wonder, where the fun went in halo 4. I mean, sure, it is a decent story. Strong new characters, a new age of discovery and tyranny for the humans, rather driven campaign all-together (more-so than reach… I mean really? Mop-up missions for spartans? Pfft…) I think Halo has lost it’s touch. There aren’t anymore inquisitive missions; curious and innocent, yet packing a ton of armor and weapons to match. No more stupid puns or bad pickup lines (I’m looking at you Johnson).
What do you think?

Hey, watch it you, he knew what the ladies like
because halo like all things is a story in motion yes more one liners would be nice but as a story progresses so to must the feel its not an innocent war no more halo 123 is like chapter 1 of a heroes journey its just setting off
his village was attacked and all his friends are dead he takes a darker more drama filled path we as gamers continue to compare the game to the ones that come before but we fail to see them as a whole it is all one game we have just passed into the next act
onward to the hermit in the woods to teach us new skills (or a giant space ship bigger then ever made before)
