The first time watching the demo I felt drained. I was just so stunned that 343i just doesn’t get it. Just like Disney/Star Wars.
Then I watched it a few more times. I started to see through my dissappointment. Seeing 343i ruin Bungie’s designs for H4 and H5 then finally listen to the community, but go overboard and make the Banished look like a 3 year olds toys. I was still just stunned. One thought peaked through, my kids might actually play this game. My kids love minecraft, and roblox. This might be the first Halo game they might play together with me. I’ve been waiting for years for my kids gaming interests to line up more with mine. H4 and H5 were too adult and difficult little kids, but seeing the Halo Infinite demo I am getting the Pixar movie vibe. Fun for all ages, cartoony and fun for kids, but deeper plot and easter eggs for more mature fans. I can get behind that. Good job 343i.
Even after watching it a few more times I still had anger that they still are ruining the story. Then I started to actually listen to the Chief and Brohammer’s banter finding humor in it, and the passion of Escarum’s challenge. I started to get chills, I realised my haterd for 343i was blocking my normaly open mindedness. The writing seems to be getting better for the game. Good job 343i, however please get Eric Nyland back for the books.
After watching the demo a dozen times I’m actually not dissappointed anymore, but I’m less excited than I was than before the demo. Its mostly nitpicks but makes me still think there is a decsion maker at 343i that is still poisoning the franchise. The Commando is a reskin of a Titanfall Carbine, UNSC guns are supposed to be bull-pup. This is known. That grapple is meh so whatever, I could picture it better in a Stealth ODST game rather than a 1000 lbs Spartan game. The sidekick is fine as long as the magnum is still in it. Never been a Reach AR fan og AR design is best, the H5 AR is the only thing I actually think was done right in the whole game.
Thanks for doing better 343i. Your nearly there.
