I cant seem to play online without terrible lag. The first month i could play perfectly fine with little to no lag, now after the update all i do is stare at a black screen and die. Has this happened to anyone else??? Any tips??

I personally haven’t had any issues with lag during War Games, but when it comes down to Spartan Ops I seem to always get a ridiculous amount of lag, yet that could due to the fact that the game has to render everything for four separate people at one time.
My advice to you would have to be reset your router & modem that usually works for me.

I wasn’t getting lag during Spartan Ops a week ago. I haven’t played War Games since the update, but I already got the impression that this is one of those times where the patch causes more new bugs than it fixed originally.
Spartan Ops is horribly full of lag. I can barely finish a game without raging from being spawned killed by teammates or the Ai. Hopefully Halo 5 won’t suffer this and the magical update in January will ride in and save us all.
