The so called “purists” are just trying to point out what made Halo different then every other FPS. Oh well, it will never be the same, I’m glad I have MCC, so that I can enjoy CE.

And what made and still makes Halo different is the fact that it is an Arena Shooter in a world where most people play Class Based Shooters. Something Halo 5 focuses on even more now. I have yet to hear anybody give an actual explanation of how sprint ruins gameplay. All I hear is “It’s not in Halo 2/3” “It slows gameplay” and the later, when questioned about it they can’t come up with a good answer. I have been playing Halo since the days of Combat Evolved, and I am glad that it actually has Evolved these 14 years later instead of staying the same. And you are right, Halo will never go back to being Halo 2, so stick with your Halo 2 PC and Halo: MCC thanks

After that, H2A was picked, and while I was getting shot in the back from being in the open, I tried to Sprint away and I was like “oh, right… I can’t”. It felt like a problem, but I know it’s not. It’s a problem when you CAN Sprint away. You have to really look at the bigger picture. Once you forget about the feeling and want to Sprint for your personal benefits at the time, you realize how much more complex and fun the game really is.
> > > > Halo 2, when you stop thinking about stupid “modernization” is simply more fun and competitive. It never gets old. There are no cheap -Yoink- tactics. It’s the way Halo needs to be.
> > > > Again, you think it’s better with Sprint because that’s what your mind is lead to believe on the surface, but I know the majority who say Sprint is needed would indeed have more fun with a Sprintless, new Halo game. I get that you’ll probably never go back to old Halo, but a new, big, hyped Halo that was created from the ground up without Sprint would be a hit and maintain a large population.

Ofc your instinct is to run and that is what you did, sprint simply wasn’t in the Game. Running or jogging away has always been in halo our any game. Also sprinting doesn’t recharge shields so you’d probably would’ve gotten picked off anyway.

I just know they would.

> So sprint is the deciding factor rather you’re gonna be playing 2 years from now? Lol just stop. I have looked at it like that and I don’t feel the same, I prefer sprint nuff said. I’ve never blamed sprint for missing kills, getting killed or anything like that. If anything sprint adds more skill to the game.
>
> The Op says charge and slide are useless proves how sprint just added more skill. Slide I thought was useless in the beta how been literally a game changer. It’s been the difference between getting AC on that plaza map before the enemy. Difference between getting my head took off or scoring a kill. I’ve already explained how charge has been a difference maker. Both are byproducts of sprint.

> Remove sprint from halo 5 and change things to accommodate no sprint, got the image? Now add h5 version of sprint to h3 and accommodate things. Both would still be hella fun but halo 5 would play worse without sprint while 3 wouldn’t play any worse or better with it imo.
Yes; Sprint is that big of a deal.
I’m not alone in this mindset.
It makes the game unplayable at more than a casual level.
So much of the strategy and mind games, which is what I find most appealing about old Halo, is taken away by Sprint.
