The so called “purists” are just trying to point out what made Halo different then every other FPS. Oh well, it will never be the same, I’m glad I have MCC, so that I can enjoy CE.

> Actually you “purists” are here to whine about Halo isn’t the same as Halo 2 anymore. And what made and still makes Halo different is the fact that it is an Arena Shooter in a world where most people play Class Based Shooters. Something Halo 5 focuses on even more now. I have yet to hear anybody give an actual explanation of how sprint ruins gameplay. All I hear is “It’s not in Halo 2/3” “It slows gameplay” and the later, when questioned about it they can’t come up with a good answer. I have been playing Halo since the days of Combat Evolved, and I am glad that it actually has Evolved these 14 years later instead of staying the same. And you are right, Halo will never go back to being Halo 2, so stick with your Halo 2 PC and Halo: MCC thanks
The problem with Sprint supporters is that they think they like it. They think it improves the game. They think these things because when they use it, it feels good or fun.
You’re not looking at it objectively.
The people who dislike Sprint are not denying that being able to Sprint feels good; we’re looking at the bigger picture, and so much of what makes great, deep, and rich gameplay is ruined with Sprint.
I am one of the biggest Sprint haters, but I get the appeal. Just a few days ago, I was playing MCC and Halo 4 was voted a couple of times in a row. After that, H2A was picked, and while I was getting shot in the back from being in the open, I tried to Sprint away and I was like “oh, right… I can’t”. It felt like a problem, but I know it’s not. It’s a problem when you CAN Sprint away. You have to really look at the bigger picture. Once you forget about the feeling and want to Sprint for your personal benefits at the time, you realize how much more complex and fun the game really is.
Halo 2, when you stop thinking about stupid “modernization” is simply more fun and competitive. It never gets old. There are no cheap -Yoink- tactics. It’s the way Halo needs to be.
Again, you think it’s better with Sprint because that’s what your mind is lead to believe on the surface, but I know the majority who say Sprint is needed would indeed have more fun with a Sprintless, new Halo game. I get that you’ll probably never go back to old Halo, but a new, big, hyped Halo that was created from the ground up without Sprint would be a hit and maintain a large population.
