Wait until E3. The article is less useful than toilet paper and is filled with same stuff we already know based on next to nothing.
They’ll show us if Halo 4 is a “CoD Rip-off” or a step into the right direction that would advance the series in a positive direction then.

Agreed man and now since the 1-50 ranking wont be in halo 4 now the game will really be boring after the 4-5 months just like halo reach

Nope, that guy was obviously a Halo veteran with his knowledge of Halo’s mechanics/storyline and button combos like BxB and BxR.

Oh and op, Halo has ALWAYS catered to the casuals. If you have been gaming longer then 2007 when CoD started hitting it’s stride, people would call Halo a casual fest and a casual shooter, takes no skill and blah blah blah, basically all the stuff people say about CoD these days.

Now get off that “Halo 4 looks like COD” Bandwagon and quit thinking Halo 4 is becoming COD just because there’s some stuff in Halo 4 that COD just so happens to have, which by the way, there isn’t any thing in Halo 4 that isn’t original to COD and COD alone.

HEY GUESS WHAT! Halo was created as a video game, and do you know what video games are for? For this thing called FUN, Halo CE wasn’t created for competitive gamers, it was created for casual gamers.

Because there is no way a better system can be made right? You must be a game design guru since you obviously know every possible ranking system and have come to the solid conclusion that 1-50 is on top.
Oh well we will enjoy halo 4 without you. At the end of the day you are the one that loses because on the train ride of halo releases, this is where you get off. 
we get to have fun for years playing halo 4 and you get to be bored of it lol sucks for you.

Ok, I have to ask, why is it every one thinks 1-50 was the number one, the one and only, epic working rank system? To be honest, I’ve never cared for it, it was full of boosters, which made getting to the top rank less of a reward. I much rather see 343i create a new system that puts every one’s beloved 1-50 system to shame, and have it be fare for every one.

I agree. 1-50 is archaic and just flat out stale. this is not 2002 when typical arena shooter mechanics were king. I believe 343 will do well on all fronts <3

I strongly dislike casuals, players with lower skill levels and weak understanding of the game and its mechanics that ultimately have stronger voices with weaker opinions due to numbers.
It’s fine though, I’m just hoping that 343 realizes that the hard core community drives the hype for the game. (If your a campaign player don’t you DARE call yourself part of the hard core community.)
Edit: Campaign player meaning someone that solely plays campaign or places most value in it.
Angering the hardcore community isn’t really a good idea, unless you want another reach situation where the game dies after we give up on the devs.
As long as they don’t purposely add ways for lesser skilled players to compete; killing players above their skill level via stupid methods where they didn’t have to outplay them, we should be fine.
Overall i don’t agree with all their decisions but they are still walking that very fine fine line, lets just hope they pull through.
Also, everything in that article is spot on and described perfectly, if you find yourself disagreeing with it, evidence points to you having a weak understanding of the more important features of a first person shooter, try to open your eyes.
1-50 isn’t all that great.
I posted my method for a new ranking sytem before.
And I abruptly challenged my system vs the 1-50.
According to the polls, my system is better.
^ if somebody is posting on a gaming forum i doubt they are casual…
