I have come to the conclusion that the boltshot is unbalanced and provides a way for lesser skilled players to prevent an otherwise inevitable death by a more skilled player.
I began my research by first looking at the name of the weapon in general; Boltshot.
I thought about this and realized why is it called this? It does shoot but it does not fire any bolts of any kind. Then it hit me! If you you were to abbrevfiate the name boltshot you would come up with B.S.
I found this to be quite an ingenious move by 343i, this was a most subtle way to hint to other lower skilled players that if they wanted to get kills they should use this weapon.
I urge you my fellow scientists to help me crack the secrets of the B.S. so we can devolop a solution to have it permantly abolished from matchmaking forever!!!
It’s fine. It’s the halo 4 version of noob tube. It’s enough to give lesser skilled players a confidence boost for a moment but without other skills the lesser player simply will lose the match if he just finds a corner and sits there hoping to use the boltshot
In fact he will be just sitting there while 4 enemies are destroying his 3 teammates while he gets ignored by skilled players that let him sit and rot.
Someone please explain to me how it is that people can allow themselves to be taken out by a point blank range attack, and then complain and claim that it’s because the person using it is so bad at the game.
If you continuously let people blast you to death with the boltshot, maybe you should ask yourself who is really the one that is bad at the game.
Seriously. What do you do if someone kills you with a shotgun? Do you keep throwing yourself at them until they run out of ammo? No, you go get some grenades and blow the -Yoink- out of their hiding spot.

What difference does it make? Your strategy for dealing with them should be the same. And when you get -Yoinked!- by someone using a weapon effectively, don’t act like it’s because they are a noob.

No thanks, I prefer to keep my distance. That’s why I don’t have a problem with boltshot users.

Well I had a good laugh at this when I go to your gametypes tab I realized you haven’t even played so much as 30 games of matchmaking, so you no idea what your talking about, compared to me
Lol at people who camp in a corner with camo and a bolt shot. They have no confidence in their abilities to actually go out and get kills that they have to hug a wall and crouch. Paaaaatheticcccccc. And they are so easy to beat too.
