Will support for other HALOs resume?
HALO WARS 2 and HALO channels
343 has worked on many works, but many of them have not been completed yet.
HALO WAYPOINT in the 360 era was the best service.
HALOWARS is also loved by 1.
2 was released with bugs left, which hasn’t affected or even fixed reviews.
I’m looking forward to INFINITE with all my might.
But I’m also worried.
Can they complete INFINITE and improve other games?
Work on the older games is done by a smaller team of devs at 343i and some outsourcing too.
Most of the older Halo games have stopped receiving support anyway. Halo 5 stopped getting updates years ago, Halo Wars 2 stopped getting support not too long ago and the Xbox 360 Halo game servers all all being turned offline in December.
Halo MCC has a small team of 343i and outsourced devs working on the game to help support it and bring new content. 343i only have plans to do 10 seasons for MCC, with Season 8 not too far away that means that seasonal content ending probably isn’t too far away for MCC either.
I wouldn’t be too worried to be honest. Halo Infinitw is going to launch completely bug free, almost every game will have some form of bugs at launch. But with that being said the game will likely launch in a fine state. The team at 343i are in “shutdown mode” meaning the main core of the game is ready and now they’re polishing up and fixing bugs until launch.
3+ Months of bug fixing is a good portion of time to get the game in good shape.
360 servers shut down in 3 months. So no more support there.
I did post in 2019 to say to everyone to prepare for Xbox 360 servers to begin sunsetting. I was correct. So, I now will say this.
Prepare for Xbox One servers to shut down as early as 2028 but as late as 2032. We are already nearly 1/5 of the way through this generation. And the next console announcement should be here in roughly 6 years to maybe 7.
So, you will not receive anymore support in any Halo until then. Only Infinite/side games up to that point. MCC support ends in about 6 to 8 months. Other than online support.
