After E3, what I find to be wrong with Halo 5

… is you people.
The showing at E3 was fantastic. Warzone looks like BTB on steroids meets Team Firefight, Campaign has all the locations you’ve been wanting to kill things in/on, and they even gave you Blue Team and Buck.
And yet what seems like a torrential downpour of twelve-year-olds has taken to the forums, crying at the top of their lungs, because it didn’t suit their extremely narrow design slice that suits their exact tastes.
You say you quit the game, and are leaving ‘like thousands of others.’
Good, stay away. Halo does not want or need you.
The 2000’s called, they want their children back.

Really? Because I can’t recall asking for a level where I can kill aliens in dark corridors during an earthquake.

You’d think that Halo wants and needs as many customers as possible to buy copies. Guess I was wrong…

Good. Tell them they can have their children if I can have their gameplay back.

Frankenstein is also a classic and well-loved story, so I’m not sure I get your point? Try again.

Two things which were highly requested. Try again.

No game will please everybody. You happen to be one of a relatively small but highly vocal minority who falls under this category: Elitists with nostalgia goggles the size of a Virtual Boy who have a complex against evolution. Try again.

They -Yoink!- gave you the Master Chief Collection (which, was indeed, horribly botched at launch, but at least functions properly now) for this very frigging purpose. Try again.

Oh no, something other than universal praise? I’ve seen exactly one “see you later thread”, while the rest of the ‘negative’ threads were mostly underwhelmed by the presentation itself.

There is a difference between criticizing what was shown and criticizing how it was shown, and quite honestly there have been far better Halo E3 showcases, even H4 had a better showing. That does not mean it can’t be a great game, the showcase was just underwhelming.

Also 343 and Microsoft are a big company they don’t need you to defend them. You liked the presentation that’s fine, but there are plenty of people who did not, and that does not make the, ‘whiners’ or ‘haters’ or whatever the next ridiculous label that comes out of this site. Being underwhelmed by the conference doesn’t even mean they are disappointed in the game as a whole, in fact it may also be because they are excited that they were disapointed at the end.

Let’s stop with generalizing, just because there isn’t 100% praise kay? I don’t know what you think adding more negativity is going to accomplish aside from helping create an even larger divide in the community.

I agree, everything I saw so far is a positive. Regardless if the community likes it or not, I don’t let them tell me that this game will suck. Every Halo game I played I’ve enjoyed and I’m 99% sure I’ll enjoy this one too. Warzone kind of reminds me of LoL in a way where we fight AI’s and enemy players. Expect this will be more badass.

I find it so cute how some of you just can’t help but repeat the exact phrases 343 dev’s use.

They -Yoink!- didn’t GIVE me a single thing. I paid for my fair share of the MCC poop pile. Do you mean to tell me my paying was voluntary, because if that was the case, I certainly was not made aware of any alternate options…especially one where I just accepted The Master Chief Collection as a gift to me from 343.

I agree. People were expecting something like a 20 minute slot for Halo 5, but that just wasn’t possible. Xbox One had quite a lot to reveal. (backwards compatibility, yes!)

They use those phrase because they’re true. Or maybe 343i is illuminati!

Balanced Arena Gameplay? Check.

Essentially 24 player Firefight? Check.

Arbiter? Check.

Buck? Check?

Blue Team? Check!!!

Sanghelios? Check!!!

Honestly, what the hell is everyone’s problem?

We “repeat” what the devs say because it’s true. Don’t know what else to say, it’s like people wanting split-screen back. It might suck for them but they are a small group so it’s not going to ruin the game for most people.

Of course they never gave us anything for free, you took his post way too literally in an attempt to be witty when you knew exactly what he meant. What he’s saying is that people who just want the old gameplay back can have it if they buy MCC.

I’m talking about the monster, not the novel. Try again.

Being assimilated into mainstream gameplay is not evolution. Try again.

First of all, how come the profanity filter doesn’t work anymore?
Secondly: The MCC does not work properly now.
Third: They gave us games we already own. How about making a new Halo game (with actual Halo gameplay) instead? Try again.

Unbalanced gameplay that is not arena. Check.

No firefight. Check.

Arbiter that doesn’t look like arbiter. Check.

Buck? Alright, I give you that one.

Blue Team. Let’s wait for the bot-AI, alright? If they handle like Kat did in Reach, people will be furious.

Sangheilios? Night mission where we see bugger all of the actual planet. (Although there might be daylight missions.)

Did you play the Beta?

Right…because it’s true. Well, I won’t even waste my time arguing this.

That’s not entirely true. I responded to his comment as if he meant what he said quite literally, simply because I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt, and assume he didn’t actually mean to infer what’s in the MCC properly reflects the “old gameplay” which many would prefer to see Halo make a return toward.

You, on the other hand, clearly seem to believe the MCC does in fact consist of the “old gameplay”. Therefore I have no idea what to even say to you. If you can’t recognize the poor quality of the MCC ports, then there’s nothing anybody can say to you that will help you understand perspectives and especially frustration built upon the fact that the MCC ports are not good at all.

Is there any need to aggravate these people let them hold their opinions so we can aviod their threads!
live and let live.

I’m going to go on the “it’s a small world ride” now…

Does it matter? The gameplay is very much in favor of the defending player, while the attacker has a clear disadvantage thanks to the sheer amount of evasive armou… excuse me, Spartan abilities like sprint and thruster. I call this “situational unbalance”; It doesn’t favor one specific team but the two parties of a firefight nevertheless aren’t equal, depending on the combat situation they’re in.

But if it makes you feel better: I did. Not on my own profile, but I did.

People need to realise some things about the demo. The reason it was so short and seemed under whelming was because of how much stuff microsoft had to get through. Xbox e3 2015 was full of games and xbox news and updates. Phil Spencer war correct when he said it was their best line up ever. I’m sure 343 would of liked to of shown us more, but they were just not able to. And I also bet the level in the game had been altered specifically for the xbox conference. It’s like they tried to squeeze a whole level into the first few minutes of the mission. I didn’t think the demo was bad, but it wasn’t amazing either. The trailers they showed however got me super excited. Just hearing buck talk made me really happy, and i nerded out a little inside.

Whaaat? The consumers aren’t at fault for the product, and you can’t reasonably blame them for having reservations about it. “Oh no, some people don’t share my opinion, I’m going to rudely demand that they stop loving a franchise they’ve potentially loved since it started just because they may not like the direction it’s going in!” Bad attitude, OP.
