I don’t know if this belongs here, but I figured I’d bring it up
As a lifelong Halo fan currently residing in South Africa…
Could somebody please make sure we get some local Xbox Live servers up-and-running by the time Halo Infinite launches?!
This article came out over a year ago, and yet I still have 192ms ping connecting to EU servers every time I try to play Halo: MCC :’(

This is completely false.
Microsoft SA has always and will always be open to local Xbox dedicated hosted multiplayer infrastructure, in fact, 343i wanted to initially geo block South Africa with MCC’s multiplayer, but thanks to Microsoft exec intervention it was undone.
It’s always been incredibly difficult to get Microsoft Xbox first party developers to be inclusive with regards to Africa.

Every Continent should have 2 to 3 servers. It just makes sense. So people can play and not have to deal with lag. Also… would help if certain… “places” didn’t block people from accessing the internet because their “government” doesn’t like free thought.
