Half the games of team skirmish I play are 3v4 because someone on one of the teams is sitting in spawn. By the time the player gets booted the team with 4 usually has a huge lead and by the time a 4th person joins it might as well be over. If someone doesnt move for like 60 seconds they should be kicked. 30 seconds would be even better but kind of harsh. now its like 3-5 minutes which is enough time for a 15 kill or 2 flag lead if the teams are even matched.
It’s already pretty short. I highly doubt it’s any longer than a minute.
30 seconds would be too low because the Warzone Firefight Last Round respawn timer is 30 seconds. People would get kicked for waiting
A minute is too short for me. Maybe 2 minutes sounds better to deal with them AFKs a little more. I won’t blame 343i for these problems since this is a player-created issue.
Isn’t it around 2 minutes now? I went to answer the door when a package was delivered and got kicked. Life still happens even if you are gaming. I don’t like accumulating quits towards a ban just because the mailman showed up.
You could get up to stretch and be kicked for idling…no, it is short enough as is.
Man, I want whatever drugs you guys are on if they slow you down that much. Obviously its gonna seem to happen instantly if youre distracted by other things but when youre sitting in the game watching your teammate rack up 8 deaths you really get a sense of how long it takes

The problem is that the system can’t tell if that’s what the player is doing. I mean, sure, they could probably do something where if a player goes AFK for almost the full allotted time, moves, and repeats a certain number of times then it could constitute a kick, but in most cases the player is caught up with something else entirely and is not actively viewing the match while not participating. You need to be able to know and predict that type of behavior if you want to enforce a justifiable punishment.
I don’t want to be kicked just because I need to go take a bathroom break, or I need to answer a quick phone call.
Comedyshermit, what was the time you calculated for the AFK boot, and in which playlist(s)?

As far as I can tell it’s about three minutes across the board. It may be slightly longer in infection; I’ll send you a link to my unlisted ‘Ban thread idlers’ playlist and you can judge for yourself. (I did speed up a couple of those though out of boredom.)
I was playing SWAT once, and my team quit except for one guy. He didn’t leave, but he was definitley AFK. After about 3 minute he was kicked, and I played the rest of that round alone. I will tell ya, that was probably one of my best SWAT experiences. I got about 23 kills until they finally got 50!
