Aesthetic preference - UNSC Hornet or Wasp

So Infinite seems to be going the classic route with UNSC Designs based on what we’ve seen so far. Personally, I like SOME of the return to form - Chief’s new armor is growing on me though I still prefer the Halo 4/5 design and I prefer the classic BR to the Halo 4/5 BR. However, I am a big fan of the Halo 5 WASP. I know this fills the role of the Hornet from Halo 3 almost to a T aside from the energy shield.

The question at hand is which design would you rather see in Infinite if there is to be a one man UNSC air vehicle?

My vote: WASP

Hornet just for the classic flavor. You’re right to point out they’re basically the same thing, though. Ultimately, as long as they don’t cram them both in the game just for fan service, I’ll be happy with that. The Falcon is actually different enough from either that there is an argument for including it alongside one or the other, though, and I’d love to see the Falcon back in Infinite.

Agreed about the falcon. I do hope that if the Falcon is included that it wouldn’t preclude the Hornet/Wasp say if the Banshee is in and they feel that would be sufficient to cover the single occupant aerial vehicle alone. The Banshee and Hornet/Wasp are different enough in movement mechanics that they can co-exist as well. The Promethean Phaeton, however, I’m not to sure about. I like it aesthetically but aside from it’s phase ability it’s identical to the Wasp. Bear in mind I don’t think that should just outright preclude it.

Hornet, no doubt.

I liked the Hornet because you can either be alone or with friends.
The wasp can only carry one player so it’s no very good compared to the Hornet.

I’d pick Hornet since you can have Marines with Rocket Launchers on a Hornet. Pretty fun and useful for campaign!

I forgot about the side mounts on the hornet. My preference on the Wasp is more aesthetic vs practical. The nice thing about the hornet is the side mounts for fellow players is it’s not necessary for the pilot but fun for a group.

I’m actually not a huge fan or hater of either design. They’re both okay looking. I like the Wasp’s wings, but prefer the Hornet’s front end/cockpit. The overall shape of both aircraft is, again, okay but it just isn’t anything exceptional. Particularly I don’t like the Wasp’s tail droops down (like an actual wasp), I think it would look much better with a smaller and skinnier version of the Falcon’s tail.

While not really being the same category of flying vehicle, I have to say the Falcon has the best design IMO.

EDIT: Would love to see the Halo Wars 1 Hawk come back actually. Top tier vehicle design IMO. Pretty much what I wanted the wasp to look like haha.

The side mounts are great in CTF modes!

Aesthetically I prefer the wasp. Truthfully I just wish the unsc would introduce a 1 person aircraft that’s not a vtol

balance and visual design wise I prefer the wasp. but I love vehicles that you can pile team mates on so my vote is the hornet.

They are basically the same thing, but the Hornet has seats on the side.

I quite like the Wasp and I think it looks better than the Hornet, but the Hornet can carry passengers so I’m torn.

I prefer the Wasp, if only because the side-seats on the Hornet were totally exposed and relatively useless. If I wanted two passengers, I’d rather have a Falcon.

I think their is more of a role differential between the Falcon and Wasp than the Falcon and Hornet, so I’d like to see Falcon and Wasp in Infinite.
