Advice

I just picked up halo 5 about a month ago, and i started off doing a lot better than expected. However once i hit gold in ffa, i started struggling, and instead of dominating i ended up woth like a 30-40% win, id end up in at least third. But then i started playing against platinums and onyx, and the past 2 days ive done awful because of this. Im not sure if thats the real reason why, or if im just im some weird rut.

Regardless my question is can anyone give me tips on improving? A good warm-up, and a good playlist to improve my skill on?

Finally ADD ME so we can 1v1 and what not, im really wanting to improve and eventually compete. I know its not gonna be an overnight thing so dont bother saying im not gonna get gud overnight.

Be patient and have fun. Takes awhile to learn the new mechanics, but is a ton of one once you start to figure it all out ^

I completely understand your pain. I felt the exact same way when I first started Halo 5 (I was also a bit late to the game).

I would recommend beating the campaign and then playing some Warzone Firefight just to further get a grasp on the gameplay. Once I did that for awhile, I felt MM just flowed a little better. Don’t get me wrong, I still get smoked very often as a solo queuer… But I find myself doing better and better as I slowly figure it out.

Stay positive and keep your head up. You’ll only get better the more you play.

Honestly if you want to become skilled at your game it takes loosing a lot. I believe myself to be a skilled player, (No Champion but still). What I recommend is to find people better than you and do octagon warmup, and 1v1s until you become better than them, learn from your mistakes and adapt. Once you become better than them, rinse and repeat. Also make sure to find a good control scene, I suggest Helljumper personally, it’s also a good idea to learn how to get out of maps and find the meta spots on the arena maps. That’s all the advice I can give you.

Go through Luke TheNotable’s youtube channel. There are many tip videos that really helped me. I usually rank gold in ranked playlists but in ffa i match with diamond and onyx players. The videos really help.

Hydro, shooters are entirely subjective.
There’s no golden rule to “improve” yourself aside from generally playing the game.
That being said, there’s a few basic “do’s” and “don’ts” when it comes to the non-subjective side, like altering your sensitivity, control scheme, etc. I would suggest searching around for the best control setups and sensitivities.
Armor can also play a roll, as a large, bulky armor like Indomitable and a small, sleek helmet like Deadeye usually excel at throwing off opposing headshots.
The best you can do to instantly improve your play would be to find a valid control scheme, sensitivity, and perhaps even an armor combination.
Good luck.

Hop into some SWAT to get the sticks moving quickly… that’s all I can really say. I don’t play a lot of FFA, since I know I’m a weak player. I do well with a team, but not on my own…
