Advice for increasing CSR

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on how to get up to Platinum. Of all the playlists I play, I usually hit around Gold 4 or 5 at the start of the season, after that I just plateau and I never seem to get past Gold 6 as every time I hit G6 I go from well balenced teams to being put against a team of Platinum 5s and Diamond 1s. It just gets so frustrating when I keep getting into a cycle of hitting G6 then immediately getting bumped back to G5. Any tips?

Try playing with teammates with mics so you can have communication throughout your team. If the enemy team doesn’t have fluid (if any) communication whereas your team does, you have a significant advantage.

Watch videos and learn stabaliser jumps, bump thrusts and other tricks that will help your map movement.

Time power ups. The game does not tell you when they spawn and 99% of gold players do not time them. If you have OS/camo all game every game you’re going to have a hard time losing. They spawn every 2 mins after they are picked up.

Try working on accuracy with a few basic weapons. You’re stuck spawning with AR and Pistol whether you like it or not, try learning to be more accurate with them both! plus the br, and then your weapon of choice. I think just raising your accuracy and staying calmer in firefights might help you out getting a tad higher.

Based a lot around team gameplay. If you are able to put up a high amount of kills every game say 18-22 with low deaths (7-11) then you need to focus on helping your team. If you tend to be middle of the pack then focus on how you can help the team. If you have a teammate that is playing well try to hang out with them during the match and provide support. There is also a pretty big gap between the speed and pace of a high gold match to a low diamond or onyx. I also agree with what the guys above said. Controlling power weapons and power ups are a must.

Careful what you wish for. I’m typically Gold in slayer and Platinum in team arena. I hit diamond in team arena and started getting matched with diamond and onyx constantly. I learned real quick I’d rather go 10-5 and lose than go 5-10 and win.

I agree with the communication part.
Like you, I usually hit Gold 5-6 in slayer or arena then plateau… I’m pretty sure its harder to ranked up after you’ve already received your first initial ranking after 10 games.

Anyway, so im usually gold 5 or 6, started playing with a team and now I go platinum consistently, and I always time power-ups

Improve your awareness and reaction time… your strafe, use precision weapons. Play with a skilled team… Communicate. Understand and master the games mechanics and how they can be used in unison.

It just takes practice… a lot of little things can’t really be defined. An experienced player is going to have better intuition on how to approach different situations. Make whittier plays… Survive, turn the tides… Predict spawns. There’s a lot of depth to the game. Understand it…

I understand that no mm system is perfect and at certain times you’ll end up with less than perfect matches, but the first match after I hit G6, it immediately starts putting me against Diamonds when literally 3 minutes ago I was with Golds and one or two Platinum 1s. It just seems to jump massively. I’ve been playing Halo since 2009, and I’d like to think that I’m good at it but sadly I can’t seem to get past G6.

Wow dude, he’s going to Plat not onyx, don’t overload him haha. /s

Agreed with what you said. Time power ups, and lower your sens.

My personal advice is grab a better friend, and get in Octagon. Tell him to strafe and try dodging your shots. Once you feel you’re doing better tell him to start shooting. Put deadzones to 0%, and don’t forget aiming is more left stick based instead of right stick, the aiming is messed in this game so try not to be careful. Don’t rush, if you have the high ground stay up, don’t get too aggressive. Trade your weapons every chance you get, don’t get stuck with the AR/Magnum.

Haha, I’ve got ghost jumping and slide jumping down, but I must admit I don’t use bum jumping as much as I should. I think I’m just not quite used to the whole extra mobility that Guardians has than say compared to Halo 3.

Ghost jumping is obsolete now. They patched it. If you want to stay off the radar crouch quickly while moving, don’t do it a lot though because it hurts your thumb haha.
