Advanced Sensors

Advanced Sensors was my very first armor mod unlock. I use it very frequently. It works perfect with silencers and bayonets. If you use all silencers, you’re invisible from the radar. Perfect for sneaking around enemy bases.

Only now have I noticed that you can see players if they make the slightest movement (even crouch-walking). I get that it’s supposed to be more sensitive, but this is a bit overkill. Increased radar range and radar during zoom in are fine, but seeing even crouch walkers is where I draw the line. I couldn’t sneak around at all to an enemy armory because someone with Advanced Sensors was guarding it the whole match. No matter what I did, he always knew where I was.

Yes, he dominated me. Yes, he camped the whole game just for me. I was salty about it. I admit it. I couldn’t counter with my own Advanced Sensors because our team sucked and the enemy stole all the boss kills so I was stuck at REQ 4 the whole time.

All I am saying is that I don’t think Advanced Sensors should sense enemy crouching. It might as well let you see through walls.

I agree. It is a bit ridiculous how good it is.

As much as I know how you feel, advanced sensors are advanced. They can show you more things than a regular Radar. If they didn’t show crouch walkers then they would just be the average radar.

Not really, it still has increased range and you don’t show up on the radar.

I stand corrected

I did not know they showed crouch walking.

Getting got while sneaking make a lot of sense now.

It’s funny how running up behind an enemy is a more viable solution to getting the drop on them since you might not show up in time.

I think the Invisibility Power Boost cloaks you from advanced radar, but someone please let me know if I’m wrong. I use advanced radar a lot in WZ and I agree that it is a bit overpowered, but it’s WZ so I just let it go.

Yeah, it still has increased range, you don’t show on the radar unless you use Spartan abilities, and you can still see the radar while scoped.

Yeah the seeing radar while scoped is definitely a big bonus.

I love using Advanced Sensors. It’s a great overall boost to your radar, but the additional bonuses are the real winners here.

  • Great for (counter) sniping as you retain your radar, even when scoped in. - The 60% increase in your radar range (25 m > 40 m) allows for better reactions if someone is sneaking up on you. - You can approach someone (and assassinate them) without showing up on their radar. - Crouching enemies can be detected; you can run, but you can’t hide. - Retains its viability at any stage of a Warzone match.Definitely one of the best armor mods in Halo 5.

There is a reason it’s my go to. I can see people running at me from behind with enough time to react, keep track of enemy movement, not appear on radar unless I’m sprinting/shooting a weapon without a silencer, and if I’m sitting back with my dmr I still have my radar. It’s my favorite of the armor mods.

No, you can pick people up with active camo. The only exception is when they have advanced sensors as well and crouch walk.

So having advanced sensors on counters when somebody else has it on so you don’t show up on radar while crouch walking?

If you and I both have advanced sensors we will always see each other on the radar…unless one or both of us are crouch walking in which case the crouch walker (s) won’t show up.

See, that’s where I find it to be overkill. It’s already “Advanced” enough with its other amazing features. Come to think of it, no one has ever snuck up on me while I’ve had Advanced Sensors on. It’s good for guarding armories against ninjas, but detecting crouch walkers is too good.

Can Advanced Sensors detect someone crouched who is moving slower than max crouch walk speed? Someone please confirm this.

Sorry but this is all you. If the guy was beating you, then you should have changed tactics. You could have attacked another part of the map and got your REQ level up, but instead you kept going back to the same place you got killed. Your fault entirely.

So you don’t like Advanced Sensors now that someone has used them against you? Personally I love Advanced Sensors and if someone uses them against me then that’s fair game. It’s me vs. them in that case.

i agree

Not really on topic, but would anyone play a warzone game with no radar? I think it might be fun in teams

How does it work if you come across an enemy with it too, do they just cancel each other out?

Yeah, they both cancel each other out; it’s all down to guts and wits at that point.
