So after watching a few YouTube videos about the Hacker AA that was cut (which looks pretty awesome to me) I began to have questions. Such as:

  1. Why did it get cut? Was it like a trolling tool?
  2. Will it ever come to the community other than in mods?
  3. Wasn’t there another AA that got cut?
    I would just like for these question to be answered.

I may not be a mod or admin, however, I will try to answer these to the best of my abilities based upon what I know about them from what I have read.

From what I understand, the Hacker AA and the teleporter AA were a part of the Beta build of Halo 4, but were removed from the base game (Which means they were not on disc at all). When the base version of the finalized Halo 4 was developed, Teleporter was turned to Thruster Pack, and as for Hacker, I dunno really.

These two AAs however were not removed from the first DLC’s files and were ‘found’ by two players on the Crimson DLC Map Harvest.

Little sidenote, this reminds me of the Reach ‘GRD Helmet’.

So to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge,

  1. I never heard discussion on why the Hacker AA was removed, though from what I have seen in Youtube videos, it is quite overpowered, as it can stop any other AA in it’s tracks. The Teleporter AA was removed, because of a bug. If you did not stop the AA in action and let it carry out completely, you had a 95% chance of dying when coming out of the AA. Considered trolling, not really. Considered overpowered, yes.

  2. It is ultimately 343 Industries decision whether or not to release new AA’s to the community. Although the Hacker AA is complete, they would have to devote time to the teleporter AA to fix it and with them working on Halo 5 now, I really don’t see this happening.

  3. I answered this above, as the other AA was teleporter.

This thread might lead to discussion about modding, which isn’t allowed here on the forums, so may I ask a mod or admin to lock this thread please.
