While I share the sentiment that microtransactions are not welcome in MCC. the word additive suggests they’ll still be earnable in the same way they are now. So it wouldn’t be the worst thing for MCC. But if they still decide to go through with microtransactions they need to tread very carefully with how people earn them.
No, 343 stated there wouldn’t be monetization in MCC back in 2019, they need to STICK to that statement.
They absolutely should not add them But I’m reminding everyone they said they weren’t GOING to, they said they Were considering it They should stick to what they’ve said, but even if the community was mostly indifferent their language says that they still might not.
Edit: Made my language clearer.
It’s hard to say for sure what they exactly mean, but I think the community is jumping ahead just to make sure that microtransactions are not a thing.
You know how the imdustry is. You tell them we’re not okay with microtransactions and they add them anyway. Regardless of intent, I think newer players should be give more “in-game” options rather than simply paying your way to whatever it is you want.
It is prudent to note here that we are happy with the current system of how players earn Spartan Points, by completing challenges and levelling up through play. This would be an optional, additive alternative for players who might find the vast scope of content to be an intimidating amount of playtime and want to get ahead on (or skip) the grind, or maybe want to grab specific items they want (we all have our favorites!)
Now what I find most interesting about this is the fact they’re basically eluding that the reasons for this idea is to make the grind less intimidating. And that’s good that they’re at least keeping FOMO in mind but let’s not try to exploit that to make cash.
Add more “non-monetary” avenues to grind for stuff and we won’t have any issues.
Two words: Daily Challenges. Seriously add 5 daily challenges for PVE and 5 for PVP and make each worth 1 point and you have no issue.
We have Weekly and Monthly challenges already, add daily to the mix and the grind becomes trivial without the predatory nature of microtransactions.
Or make it so that you only have to purchase half of the tiers per page of seasons to progress to the next.
I would’ve said just being able to purchase any of them, but people getting stuff like the haunted helmet right off the bat would be a bit silly, need some sense of progression.
No. No compromises. Any and all microtransactions are not okay.
Microtransactions are a plague on modern gaming. It needs to end. Fight it at every corner.
If they do im definitively un-installing MCC and sticking to my good ol’ xbox360 cds
Aint no way im supporting that kind of corporatism
All microtransactions are bad for games.
NO! Mcc is the last place to play Bungie’s games online, they can’t ruin it with their greed!!! NO MTX AT ALL!
