I’m still confused why they’re saying “before 343 cuts support” as there has no indication that they are shutting down support for the MCC and I think the collection will continue being supported for the foreseeable future. Player count may be dropping but not by nearly enough for 343 to even consider ditching the project entirely.
It’s great to see most of the OP’s requests being granted. Here is my most desired option for Halo in general
As I have been saying for years, Halo MCC requires an Infinite 4v4 search at the very least. Choosing to search H2, H3, and Infinite CTF, slayer, and any mode would be redefining the gaming market. No other title supports anything like this. #advantage
Biggest blunder since the original MCC launch. I will spend $100 for a version of this.
I would love to see all of the features brought over to Halo 3’s forge (and maybe other Halo forges wherever possible). Weapon Variants, new Maps, Forge features such as changing the skybox, removing kill barriers, etc. I can only imagine just how awesome Halo 3 customs would be with these extra features.

In addition, being able to customize armor lights for Halo 3 armor would pretty much make every single aspect of said armor completely customizable.
343 said the update cycle would end at the end of 2022. However given Infinites massive decrease in population and MCCs stability in population along with leadership change, this may not actually hold up to be the truth, which is pretty good, means more features for the potential future.
Happy to see the 343 leadership changes after the recent outcry over infinite and happy to see some of my request being implemented i was finally at a low with 343 but theres hope with no mtx
Lets hope there isint backfire with no mtx tho, well im happy and still wish to see more updates, I hope 343 doesent just cut support now because they wont be making as much money off the game
With that said im confident with leadership change the new head will want to continue support considering he was responsible for fixing this game
If support were to continue I would still want all the above added but some easy things they could do for more content is
-H3 Skins for ODST (Should be simple enough)
-Acrophobia for Halo: CE (I know Halo 4 is coming but i havent heard anything on CE
-New Series: This one with the new update I was Expecting a 25-50 tier series with Items also going to exchange, these would be delivered over longer periods of time because infinite is there priority
-Bring Back the Reach Jackpot System for Extra xp and spartan Points (this would give players a new way to earn points)
-Mod Support for Consoles would allow the game to continue on console for sometime, the system could be similar to Fallout 4 and Skyrim with maybe help from bethesda, i find it odd theres full mod support on steam but not on microsfts own platform maybe down the road if microsoft makes mods more official
I hope MCC continues support through 2023 at least besides this stuff theres still bugs to fix to
In the mod tools for CE a new debug cheat was added that mirrors the behavior of acrophobia. Behind the scenes the skull just enables the cheat which means a lot of the ground work for CE has already been established.
Halo CE and Halo 2 Classic hit registration should take priority above everything you posted. Without a fix these games have no competitiveness that’s why most OGs won’t even play them.
I agree that legacy bugs should take priority to be on par with originals but a increase in file size should still be up there considering how low it is for 6 games as well as not even on par with previous titles
There are still some tactical packages/suppoer upgrades from the og Halo 4 that are still missing (resistor, recharge and survivor, I think) and need to be incorporated
Offline Bots. There needs to be offline bots for every game and every mode in the Master Chief Collection. Multiplayer, Campaign, Firefight, whatever. There needs to be offline bots!
These are finally coming in novber update or a future update according to h4 10th anniversary news post
The vital things that will get me investing time into the MCC are:
-
Give players the ability to setup a control scheme that matches Guardians’ default control scheme on a controller while also giving players the control customization ability plus depth of Infinite. This would require them to separate the zoom mechanism from the zoom level toggle on the classic titles.
-
Update the skill assessor to TrueSkill2 and implement TrueMatch.
The things that’d be much appreciated:
-
If possible, add vehicle seat switching to all these classic titles.
-
Create & add a lot more H2A & CEA developer maps.
-
Add some of the best community created Combat Evolved Custom Edition maps to CE’s matchmaking.
-
If possible, add assassinations to the titles that didn’t have that mechanic.
-
If possible, add 4 player co-op to all titles. This may end up being a PC mod feature, but if so please port it over to the consoles.
-
Bring the Halo 4 custom game mode of Conversion to its matchmaking options
Halo 2’s real Post Game Carnage Report.
Here is an idea. Firefight voices for your multiplayer spartan in halo reach. So instead of hearing the death noises of noble 6 you’d hear noises and quips during combat from your firefight character. The player voice would only apply to the campaign while the firefight voice now only applies to the multiplayer and the campaign. So from now on if you wanna switch back to the old noble 6 voice, you have no choice but to use the noble 6 firefight voice. The voice in the character menu only applies to the campaign now. Not saying i agree with how this would be done, im just saying that this would be the logical step done by 343 I think it would be cool to have master chiefs voice in multiplayer in halo reach. Or add in halo 3 odst slayer where instead of spartans you all play as ODSTs. That would be cool.
The remaining Halo: Online maps, specifically Reactor
Fully agree with this; honestly wondered why it wasn’t a feature in the base game.
- For Spartan players: Change ‘Firefight Voice’ subcategory designation to ‘Spartan Voice’
- For Elite players: New customization subcategory, ‘Covenant Voice’
-
- Sangheili
-
- Unggoy
-
- Jiralhanae
-
- Kig-Yar
-
- Yanma
-
- Lekgolo
‘Covenant Voice’ would change the voice lines of the Elite model to be a different Covey species.
On a related note, what if this feature could be exported to other MCC titles (for example, Halo 4)? The easiest example would be ODST, with:
- Rookie (default)
- Buck
- Dare
- Dutch
- Mickey
- Romeo
- Sgt. Johnson
with an expanded selection of
- FADM Hood
- CMDR Keyes
- GYSGT Stacker
- at least three of selection of Gough, Isla, Butkus, Morgan, Smith, Walter, Wu, Arroyo, Fones
- at least three of selection of Michelle, Chan, Hartmann, Anete
- VIRGIL
Perhaps Halo 4’s hypothetical list could be arranged as something akin to:
- Crimson 1-1 (default)
- DeMarco
- Madsen
- Grant
- Hoya
- Thorne
- GYSGT Stacker
- CMDR Lasky
- SIV CMDR Palmer
- Cortana
- John S-117
- Rampant Cortana
I sooner hope/expect that HODST would receive competitive modes (and maybe some competitive maps added via the HODST devkit, because the majority of HODST’s Firefight maps are not suited for such) before introducing playable ODSTs into H3.
That such capability would increase HODST’s player population to the point where there would be more reasons for a potential ODST customization rework is also a factor as to why I support this concept instead of cramming playable ODSTs into H3.
Can we have scoring turned on in campaign even when using skulls with x0 multiplier and starting from rally points? Tracking for par times/scores is disabled anyway but i still like to see the medals and have a timer etc
Edit: you cant even turn it on for the mombasa streets segments in ODST, thats sad
Edit2: the back button in menus often takes you not only back but all the way to the main menu, which shouldnt happen imo
For regular peer-to-peer custom games: Add an “open” lobby option.
The friends only lobby option used to work just like an open lobby open since the original Xbox release, but was changed to actually be friends only when the Custom Game Browser released. This requires the host of the lobby to be XBL friends with anyone who wants to join and is a big pain for 16 player lobbies.
