MCC has come a long way since 2014 and im so happy with its state, but there are things missing which I feel are needed before 343 cuts support to focus on just infinite here is a list
Larger File Size amount (a boost from 50- 400 would be substanial and allow the community to have more space to create more maps and modes)
-A Better File Browser (MCC needs a File Broswer Revamp to find modes and maps much more Easily)
-A New Way to Earn Spartan Points that doesent require microtransactions (343 cant make us pay for new content for such old games, I say let us earn points after 100 and implement a new system overtop of challenges and rank)
-Certain Cutting Room Floor Content already coming to PC for Console (The old H1 Armors woupd be great for customization options as well as other stuff)
Split-screen on PC man. Iāll take other split-screen improvements, like 4 players for campaign and Firefight, or multiple profiles saved locally, like for Halo 2 or Combat Evolved⦠Or it can be butts basic and just have duplicates of the main Xbox profile like when playing on one Live profile with no enhancements whatsoever, Iām desperate.
I also very strongly think playlist completion should unlock a season point for players on its first time completion. Itās not much, but would be great for players going through Halo for the first time, grinding away through each campaign, but only getting season points for the first few missions.
The games still have bugs that should be dealt with long before they cut support.
Online co-op within the majority of the games is currently unstable and it wasnāt always like this either.
Thereās even some bugs within the games themselves that still have been ignored, like the warthog run in Halo 3 not having the hallway beams move after falling While it could be considered āminorā, it wasnāt a bug in the original version of the game.
Definitely would like to see a better fileshare system in place. Would like to see a dedicated menu of some sorts to browse and download community maps, modes, etc.
The remaining maps from Halo Online, and HDR support would be nice as well.
I hope that if they were to make it so that you earn season points after 100 levels (tour 4 level 10) I hope that depending on how many levels above that rank you are you get that many points like if I were a tour 4 level 20 I would get 10 points since Iām 10 levels after that AND whenever I rank up after that I get the point. Plus for the higher tours, it would be nice if youād get more points for ranking up since it takes forever to rank up at higher levels.
Split-screen and HDR for PC would definitely be nice. Cross-platform co-op for the rest of the campaigns. Off the top of my head those are the only things Iād say should definitely happen before they finally end all work on MCC. Some things that I wouldnāt say are super important but would be nice would be some more multiplayer maps. Rest of the Halo Online lineup for Halo 3. Maybe do a couple more maps for Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer. Of course more bug fixes would always be welcome. But aside from that? MCC really feels like a very complete package at this point to me.
āComplete packageā? There are still a ton of bugs fixes and optimizations that they still havenāt addressed. I mean just to list of a few thereās the bug in Halo 4 where characters are just black silhouettes, or the brutes in one of the stages in Halo 2 that donāt render at all in Anniversary graphics, or the matchmaking system in itās entirety, or the numerous sound bugs in Halo 2A, etc. i could go on but the thing is there are many issues that 343 have yet to fix across the collection. This game is still not a ācomplete packageā not by a long shot.
Thereās a lot left to do. Assuming all the remaining bugs are addressed, these are what I consider the most important Priority 1 additions:
Features:
PC Splitscreen. Ideally 4 player across the board and the ability to choose between horizontal or vertical splitscreen at least for 2 player splitscreen.
Cross Platform Co-Op across the board.
Remaining Halo Online maps added.
Steam Workshop.
File Browser & Fileshare overhaul.
Halo 3 Forge overhaul. Bare minimum; custom thumbnails, object limit and file limit drastically increased to be only limited by available storage, as much of if not all the campaign assets, flora, terrain chunks and the ability to add or remove kill barriers and invisible barriers, skyboxes, Duplicate, Delete All.
Ability to take Screenshots in Theater returned and the ability to use a screenshot as an Avatar or Main Menu backgrounds.
Able to mix and match the original main menus from each game for each section of the main menu and able to select from all soundtracks which song is playing.
Player Card overhauled. More in depth stats and be able to cycle through the playerās custom characters for each title.
Party Up.
Veto.
Quicksearch. Search for any and all playlists, in the selected titles, that is compatible with the party size.
Escalation and Headhunter added to Halo 3.
āRivalsā 2v2 Firefight mode added to both ODST and Reach. You and a partner battle an enemy duo while trying to rack up more points than them.
Stop the Leaderboards cheaters and add Leaderboards for Firefight.
Add the missing usable weapons from H3 to ODST Firefight. Maybe have all the newly added weapons scattered throughout the Campaign as easter eggs.
Make ODST Firefight maps multiplayer maps in H3.
Add most suitable H3 maps to ODST as Firefight maps.
Remove SBMM in Social.
Cosmetics:
All titles: All missing skins for all weapons and vehicles.
All titles: All missing visors.
All titles: A colour wheel for greater variety of colours and make it so you can choose independently the Primary/Secondary/Tertiary colour for each section of armour.
Halo CE: Playable CE Elites.
Halo CE: Legacy armours.
Halo CE: āMaster Keyesā default CE Spartan with a clear visor and Captain Keys head inside.
Halo 2: All variations of Elites seen in Campaign playable.
Halo 3: Remaining Halo Online armour added.
Halo 3: Increase the resolution of Halo Online armours so they donāt have that weird jagged/low res look.
Halo 3: Arbiterās armour added for Elites.
Halo 3: Make Legacy flame not tied to armour and add the other Armour Effects.
Halo 3: Woodland, Urban, Desert, Snow, Digital camouflage Gen2 Techsuits. And a Flood Mass Techsuit which is force equipped on Infected in Infection.
Halo 3: Marine Pilot NPC armour added.
Halo 3: Helmet, Chest, Right Shoulder, Left Shoulder, Right Arm, Left Arm, Right Hand, Left Hand, Waist, Right Leg, Left Leg, Right Foot, Left Foot, Accessory, Armour Effect, Visor.
Halo 3 ODST: Corrupt NMPD Cop and Fireteam Raven characters and H3 Lord Hood and H3 Miranda Keyes playable in Firefight.
All titles: A really cool reward for doing all LASO campaigns. Not including the redundant Legendary Master Chief Saga playlist which should just be removed.
In addition to pretty much everything everone else has mentioned I would like a few other things:
Officially backport multiplayer bots to as many games as possible in MCC (hopefully at least CE and 2)
UI overhaul for the menus. Switch to a simpler, more vertical UI for the menus (like Halo 3 and Reach) instead of horizontally scrolling with the large image cards.
An official mod tool that lets you edit game variant scripts for Halo Reach and later.
Iād like to throw my own hat into the ring. Here are my 3 big requests:
Increase private file limit from 50 to either 400 like OP stated OR until you run out of storage space.
The ability to disable built-in Kill and Invisible barriers for EVERY game via custom game settings so that you can explore every map to your hearts content in either Custom Games OR Forge depending on which you prefer. And when I say every map I mean every multiplayer map from Reach-4.
This is an exceptionally excellent idea for improving playlists.
In addition to this, Iāve been asking for difficulty selection for playlists for like five years at this point too.
Iām a 20+ year veteran of the Halo franchise. I absolutely love the idea of being able to select a playlist and play all the tank, or hog, or sniper missions from different games in a row. Itās such a cool gosh darn idea. But only being able to do most of them on normal difficulty is boring as flipā¦
Oh and of course anything that may also be missing from OG CE, 2, 3 and ODST if there is anything. I never followed the multiplayer side of them too closely.
it would be nice to do most of the playlists on heroic. itās the difficulty level i always choose when i want to play halo missions but not feel like itās a breeze
Especially the co-op. Iām very tired of being gaslit about how well the OG Halo 3 and Reach did on online co-op. It wasnāt perfect, but it was better than the MCC has been.
Lol ⦠When they port H5 over an make some challenging cross game playlists on atleast Heroic with Tough luck on. Then maybe the numbers will rise again. When Halo Infinite gets Forge an Co-op I think alot of players will slowly migrate over to Halo Infinite.
Everyone here is talking about ānewā things that should be added. Meanwhile, Halo 4 is still missing two things from the 360 version: Spartan Ops matchmaking, and the following multiplayer loadout options:
Tactical Packages:
-Resistor: Maintain full mobility while taking fire.
-Fast Track: Bonus XP (debatable return since MCC XP system is universal across all its games)
Support Upgrades:
-Recharge: Reduces the delay from when shields start recharging from 6 seconds to 5 seconds.
-Survivor: Ejects the user from a vehicle when it explodes.
AFAIK, these loadout options are also the only missing MAJOR GAMEPLAY affecting content yet to be brought over for any of the games in MCC.
Furthermore, when making a Halo 4 custom game that uses pre-selected Game Loadouts (General Settings > Game Loadouts), the following options are not selectable:
Tactical Packages -Requisition -Wheelman
Support Upgrades: -Drop Recon -Gunner -Nemesis -Stability -Stealth
Given the Custom Game browser now supports Halo 4, adding these options to custom games using Game Loadouts would allow for a wider variety of custom game possibilities.
