Alright so this is super random but I had some thoughts on halo weapons and specifically the brute spiker. I think it could be a great addition to the halo infinite sandbox with a few tweaks.
- Add a slowing affect to the spikes(giant spikes would slow anyone down)
This allows for unique gameplay opportunities that no other weapons take advantage of
- Increased melee damage just like all the banished weapons
- Increased vehicle damage (increasing utility) Because spikes would apart metal
The spiker is a uniquely halo design and could be a great addition to the sandbox. Think about the uses of the spiker with all these traits.

Better yet, make a spiker type weapon that’s basically the Doom super shotty with attached grapple. Would be a sick power weapon.
Both Mauler and Spiker should be in the game imo. Rebalance them both since there is no dual wielding in Halo Infinite, so increase the damage a bit compared to the Halo 3 versions. Mauler should feel like alot like a classic Halo shotgun or Mauler, high damage up close but very low range, plus boosted melee damage from the blade of course. As for Spiker, should also play alot like the old one but with a hook like you said, such as spikes temporarily reducing movement speed with each one that makes contact with an enemy, with a stacking effect.
First of all, electric weapons actually do already have a slowing effect.
Second of all, I fully support the Spiker (and Mauler and Brute Shot). However I think its role is obvious: a power assault rifle.
Much like how we have regular snipers (stalker and shock rifles) and power snipers (skewer and sr), the spiker would be a stronger AR - it would have big spikes that have bullet drop, with a slower ROF and higher damage per spike. I would also say that the Mauler and Spiker blade melees should insta-kill, but without the lunge of a sword.
Mauler should be insta-kill at close range, unless the regular shotty is coming back - in which case it could be even weaker than the Bulldog.
