Adding DLC maps to the rest of Multiplayer

Hey, my second post is about the new DLC including Noble, Defiant, and Anniversary maps making their way to the rest of the Multiplayer Playlists. I know that some playlist do have the new maps, but I want to know if all especially the new ones coming in Nov. are going to be placed in the other playlists. I don’t like sticking to just one playlist to play a certian portion of all the Reach maps and don’t like switching back and forth. Also the DLC Objective playlist is getting real annoying with all the Invasion games. PLEASE PUT DLC IN ALL PLAYLISTS!!!

But not required in TS/Arena/Multi Team like in H3.

True for all but Anchor 9 and the Anniversary maps. At least in my opinion.

DLC IS IN ALL PLAYLISTS. But in order to play for example Breakpoint in Team Snipers, all the 8 players need to have the DLC map. This is rare so that’s why DLC maps are not seen in other playlists. If you mean that all playlists should be DLC Required then it’s obvious that it is unfair.

make ranked playlists. Add DLC to social, and leave it out of ranked. Or vise versa. Your choice.

Could you please explain me which playlists are ranked in Halo:Reach and which are social? We can’t bring back Halo 3. Games are tottaly different. There will be trouble with the cR system.

The managed that in H3. Besides by now most of the people playing Rech have to have both map packs.

They managed it because the ranking system was by skill not by cR. And no. Most of the people do not have to have both map packs. We can’t force them to buy them by closing playlists. This is unfair. They paid for the game as you and I did. For me, what they did in Halo 3 was terrible.

Well if they can’t manage DLC in the other playlists they should at least fix the DLC objective Playlist so that we don’t get invasion on BP all the time.

I had all the DLC for Halo 3 but I agree what they did was BS. If you didn’t have all the DLC you could only play in what, three playlists? The only time that’s acceptable is with FREE DLC and we all know that Microsoft is far too greedy to make Noble/Defiant free.

Judging by how rarely DLC maps show up in regular playlists, that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. Unfortunately, I have to say, because I really feel like I’ve wasted 20 bucks on something I hardly ever get to play except for the Premium playlists. And the point of map packs is not to play them in special DLC playlists only.

I’d really love if 343i could gradually make all the map packs mandatory among various playlists, especially the “core playlists” such as Team Slayer, BTB, Invasion, and Living Dead.

This would be unfair because there will be players that can’t play them while they have paid for the game…how is this right? As for what czeeezztofer said…Microsoft reduced their price from 800MP to 400MP for a week. Like a discount. And don’t always blame Microsoft. It’s a company, that invested money in Halo and they can’t give you free a Halo:Reach DLC. It’s obvious that they are not doing charity. And for CoD and Battlefield, PSN prices for the DLCs are the same. So it’s not Microsoft that takes our money. In fact, Halo DLC comes at least 400MP less than almost every other DLC content.

I don’t know about anyone else who plays multiplayer but i purchased both DLCs and i rarely get to play them. I know premium battle and slayer only play the DLCs but i talking about game types like SWAT, Team Snipers, Slayer, Team Slayer, etc. So my question is, am i the only one who is tired of player Uncaged and Asylum or are there others that agree that the DLCs need to be added, in some way or another, to every if not most game types in multiplayer?

That is so weird! Just as one of these topics dies, another one pops up. I have no idea how you guys do this!

And to answer your question, I really don’t mind playing Uncaged and Asylum constantly. I wouldn’t mind seeing Tempest now and then, but I really don’t care for the rest. As far as non-DLC, I wish boardwalk would show up more. That maps always just plain fun.

agreed

In Halo games, DLC maps will only have a chance of appearing in Matchmaking if everyone in the lobby has that certain DLC. And then, those maps will have no more chance of appearing than any other maps. Given Halo’s lobby system, this setup works better than in games like CoD. They (Bungie) did not design the playlists to alienate those without DLC because players really hated that about Halo 3.

More or less the problem does not deal with the DLC in the playlists, but rather players who are in the playlist that do not have the DLC, which is a large amount of the population, thus making it rare to play on DLC maps.

If they had a search function to pair those with DLC this could help solve the problem, though until then it is luck of the draw or one of the Premium lists (which requires players to have the DLC to go in).

Alienate non-dlc user should be required in every game. Send cash or I will stop you from playing the game 8^)

Eventually the Noble map pack will be free for download before Defiant map pack goes free. That will add more variety to the map selection in certain playlists.

Yes, more DLC maps in regular matchmaking!
