Adding AI characters to Forge

So imagine if 343 allowed us to put human, Covenant, Forerunner, and maybe even Flood AI into Forge world’s. When you place them into the game, they act like real characters and depending on their affiliation, will shoot at you and aid you. You could make firefight maps (H5 type and Reach/ODST type) actual game levels, and have better target practice. And it would be convenient for those making machinima. How would you use it? I know this is a long shot but it seems awesome!

This would be a great addition to the Forge mode and definitely would help Machining makers. I have always wanted AI in Forge and I hope because of warzone’s AI they add them in someday.

Pathing and scripting for A.I. is a lot more complicated and resource dependent than most would think. It is not simply point and click. Think about Halo C.E. and how many times we ran into static enemies that only reacted to you. Many games today have gotten much better at this particular point of development but I think 343i is a long way from Bethesda in this department.

Ya I figured that there would be flaws like that, but I do also think that the current Firefight has gotten us closer to that possibility. And they don’t even NEED to be on that level, although itd be nice, just having the option I think would be cool.

I agree but we need to have a clear message to 343i on what we wish to have from any A.I. integration in any future Halo. I do believe halo forge is going to make halo a console version of garry’s mod with a competitive multiplayer and compelling story. I believe we should have script-able aircraft first. So when a trigger goes off your chosen aircraft and start flying around in dynamic paths or engage in dogfights. Something like the skyboxes in those halo missions where aircraft are adding to the atmosphere of the mission.

basically Halos’ version of combat training? I think thats a bloody brilliant idea.

If they did put AI into Forge, do you think they would put community made firefight maps out like they do multi-player? It would probably have to be like the older version of firefight where you could only have 4 people.

It would bring mini games to a whole new level if the A.I had dialogue. People could create minigames that have a more of a story than the do now. I would be interested so see infection maps with A.I. and A.I. dialogue.

They were in Halo 4 maybe have more types of turrets.
