Addictive mechanic to keep us playing....

Every good game has this. It’s why we keep playing games. To level up, unlock the next things. The next prestige. New spells/gear.
Halo 4 is using the level system and SP for loadouts, as well as new armour.
The problem is these are all gimmicks. Shiny new armour doesn’t mean anything.

Halo 3 had the addictive mechanic right. A ranking system (not perfect) but a ranking system none-the-less. I played halo 3 more than I have any other game ever in search of the next rank. The highs and lows, the pains and joys were what made that game truly exciting and (re)playable.

Halo reach failed. Can halo 4 and 343i make it happen again??

a ranking system is coming to waypoint early next year. and they have said that they are working on getting it in the actual game as well.

They are implementing it soon into waypoint, be patient.

also I hope you play more for fun though…

I know that they said it was coming to Waypoint, but where did they say that they were working on getting it in the game?

yup, thats one of the reasons I grinded so long on halo 3 and Halo Wars, loved having a true skill system
