I would really like to play with my family that is on Mouse and Key while I play controller (my brother and I live two states away and only hangout through games). HCS is allowing open events to have cross input teams play each other, Why cant we have an option to play with whoever we want? I get some people don’t want to play against either or input but why not give us a chance to choose ourselves. Make Ranked toggle input matching on by default and then let the players choose to turn it off and match with who ever.
The success of games has been highly linked to their popularity on streaming i.e. warzone. Nickmercs plays on controller while Tim the tat man plays on mouse and Key. This means that they will not be able to play ranked with each other severely limiting the amount of time they will spend on Halo Infinite as they almost exclusively will game with each other.
Limiting players ability to choose will only hurt the game.

Are you saying to keep ranked segregated? or allow for the toggle? sorry a little jet lagged today
I just want to play ranked with my brother on inputs we both are comfortable with. Toggle on both inputs for me but if someone doesn’t let them decide.

Allow toggle, as long as the other players don’t need to mix with other input types if they don’t want to.
That does mean three different pools of players, so I am not sure how difficult that is to implement and make the matchmaking work. The input based player pools would then have less players to pick from.
I won’t surprised if there won’t be a toggle for ranked. Pleasantly surprised if there is one.

Gotcha, yeah I feel like its a logic argument of True false, I could see it splitting up the search but other games dont seem to have an issue that implement a toggle
This could only benefit the game.
I don’t like to play against PC players but I do have friends that play on PC and would like to be able to play with them.
