This must have been proposed a dozen times already, but I didn’t see it in the Index Suggestions Thread.
343 should add a firefight mode where four players team up against endless waves of the flood. There should be no time limit, akin to Call of Duty’s Zombies mode, where the rounds keep stacking and the waves keep increasing in size. More flood forms appear after every so many rounds, etc.
About every 6-10 rounds, a proto-gravemind could appear, and the team would have to work together to take out the proto-gravemind.

And let us play as Elites and Spartans teamed up against the Flood.

Yes, which means that Halo 4 should let you play as your customized Elite in any game mode. With AA staying in Reach, there’s no reason to split up Elites into a separate game mode. But I digress.
I’d rather wait til the flood are confirmed for Halo 4 before suggesting what should be in firefight, because for all we know it’ll be made up of nothing but the ancient threat enemies.
Speaking of the Flood, it would be awesome if Halo 4’s Infection gametype had the Zombies as the Flood. That’s something I’ve always wanted since Halo 3.

I agree, but if you were to use that logic for everything, you could say that Master Chief could spend all his time in the shield world, so for all we know, UNSC weaponry wouldn’t be in the game at all.
Furthermore, there are a few core aspects that people have come to expect from Halo, and the Flood is a key third party to the series’ story arcs, so the flood could likely make a return.
