Add req and exp bonus for using game chat

There is way too much lack of communication in this game. An extra boost of 200 RP and EXP would probably fix that a little.

Its nothing drastic but it would encourage communication in arena and warzone and reward teamwork as well.

I can’t tell you how many times me and my buddy dropped out of party chat while playing breakout or slayer only to find two other people in a party not giving a damn. Same for Warzone.

Just because people are in a party doesn’t mean they “don’t give a damn.”

Minimal RP/XP isn’t going to get people to magically use mics again.

people would just keep it hooked up and not use it, or hook it up and sit it next to their speaker the whole match.

This is actually an intriguing proposition, I’ve been a proponent of positive reinforcement for a long time.

In reality though, probably not going to make a huge difference. I only use a mic when playing with friends, and it’s actually an etiquette thing. I’m a trash talker, and when I have it plugged in it’s really hard to resist the tug of slagging the guy who’s dragging down the team.

A little positive incentive wouldn’t hurt honestly. Like you said, some spare change worth’s amount of xp isn’t going to produce strategic communication, but it’s a good thought nevertheless.

Sure, I’m all for positive reinforcement. I’d like to see increased RP/XP bonus jackpots for not quitting, for example.

But something like this will likely just end up with people doing this:

Which will likely then chase people back into party chat.

I would classify being in a party while playing breakout as “not giving a damn” while your other teammates use game chat.

The minimal gains wouldn’t suddenly make everyone want to stay in game chat, but as someone mention it is a positive encentive to communicate.

There are probably other ways to encourage communications besides this, if you or anyone else can think of some please speak up.

Unfortunately That’s true. But the idea of getting match bonuses for not quitting is a great. It’s like Smite’s good will system where you get bonus followers and favor for finishing matches. That’s something I’d like to see.

I usually only chat in party. when playing warzone i typically mute all mostly because one there doesn’t seem to be a lot of strategy to employ there and i find my self in games with people blaring music into their mics or singing or just being obnoxious so why try to chat when its mostly just noise.

Didn’t entirely matter if they don’t use it, if they can hear other players talk it at least brings more map awareness.

And if if people are being obnoxious then you should mute them. I’ve heard some really noisy/rude people on Xbl and I just mute them.

Obviously this idea isn’t a massive game changer, but it would likely bring about more communication, nothing big but it’s a step in the right direction I think.

We had this in Reach, it worked very well, but you know 343 won’t reuse old things that work.

As much as I love gamechat and incentives/forced gamechat for some playlists, I don’t think XP/RP will do much.

They need an option if the majority of your team mutes you, you don’t get the boost to stop people from blaring music through their mic or some other BS
