Make it so if your loadout has Plasma Pistol and you pick up the flag, you get the Flagma Pistol or the Flagshot with the boltshot. Let us use our own sidearm. And maybe if you are currently carrying 2 primaries and you pick up the flag you get the 2 handed flag with lunge or something lol. Or just add the personal flag sidearms. 
EDIT: And also let us use our own flag sidearm skins so that we truly get the feeling we are using our own sidearm. And let us pick up other secondaries while carrying the flag. I think this entire idea would fit Halo 4’s infinity style quite nicely.

If you don’t have a side arm, your defenseless and just use both your arms to carry the flag.
If you have either sidearm, it’ your weapon to defend yourself with along with holding the flag.
I think it should be like it used to be with an option to drop as well as no weapon other than the flag.
This is what I was wanting for a while now tbh. But if they can make the flag carrier have a Lightrifle in Lightning CTF, then maybe they could do this as well.
I like this but only if the Boltshot’s overcharge was disabled. Imagine how annoying it would be if someone was just farming kills around a corner.
They could just disable the damage increase. IF not, it still wouldn’t be OP imo. You would be restricted to just he boltshot, and people would know you are around the corner due to the waypoint. You already have ine hit melee, which is close range like the boltshot, which means people chasing the carrier usually don’t turn corners anyways. IMO it would be fine but if they really insist, they can just take away the damage increase.
