Halo has always had a lot of aim assist. It gives it tight controls. However Halo has very little aim assist at all and the aiming feels too loose. Maybe this is to make the Battle rifle and DMR a little less powerful but they are too loose as things stand. Adding to the overall speed of Halo 5 compared to other halo games the loose controls does not fit it at all. Needs to be tighter like Halo 1-4
Besides aiming feeling loose im loving Halo 5. Possibly the best halo ive played actual (and ive been playing since Halo 1)
I really don’t understand what you mean by ‘aiming feels loose’? I’m so glad we have this less aim assisst in h5. I still have on problems giving headshots, but now they feel a lot more rewarding than in h4.
Less aim assist is a good thing.
Less aim assist leads to longer average kill time, creating a gap between various skilled players as the top tier will have close to the optimum killtime of 1.34secs, and lesser skilled will have significantly longer. This gap is good.
Also, Halo has not always had high aim assist weapons… Jump back to CE where it all started (not the TMCC port) and you’ll see that it is hella hard to land those 3-shot-kills.
Low aim assist is good. The game shouldn’t hold your hand and aim for you.

Are you trolling? The hit boxes in h5 are the size of Africa that’s the problem along with sprint

That’s not because CE had low aim assist schnitz
CE actually has rather high amounts of aim assist, similar to Halo 2 in most regards. What made it difficult to shoot was the slow moving projectiles.
Halo 3 on the other hand had very low aim assist in comparison to the first two titles on top of (albeit fast moving) projectile ammunition.

Not at all. If this were PC i would have no issue, but its on consoles with a controller. I play well so i have no issues there. At the moment it just doesnt feel as tight as other halo games. It feels more like a PC game than a console game.

I quit Halo 4 because it had too much aim assist.
If anything, I want even less aim assist than we have now.
But I wouldn’t be against a gamettpe or playlist that ups to aim assist to cater to more casual players like you. The more variety, the better.
No, keep the aim assist low, it’s to easy to get kills (and get killed) when it’s too high. (Looking and Halo 2 and 4 here).
Afraid I have to disagree the aiming for me feels about right. If anything the aim assist on the sniper needs to be toned down, its too easy to get noscopes atm
its virtually impossible to not 4shot people with BR
sniper headshot hitboxes are insane
how much more assist do you need?
They should add 100% aim assist so all you have to do is pull the trigger to be L33T!!!
with the recoil of the BR you can aim at the chest and the 3rd bullet hits the head at most ranges. This definitely makes it easier but for someone like me who played 10,000+ Halo 2 games before i really played any of the others it causes a problem. I still have a tendency to aim right at the head, but with the recoil one of the bullets misses inevitably. That’s my issue though, i just need to aim for the chest more. The hitboxes do still seem a little low for headshots though.
Overall i like the lower aim assist, i have had to lower my sensitivity a notch which is fine.
Im not too worried about the sensitivity and aim-assist. Thats all slider stuff that they have almost a year to tweak and all it needs is a slight tweak in the first place.

Skill up. /Thread.
I think because of lag in Multiplayer any aim assist you are supposed to get sometimes doesn’t register. I’ve had games where I can stay on target and others where I end “Spraying and Praying” trying to shoot where I want to.
Because the aim assist is low in the first place it is difficult to tell this though. Also unlike Halo 3 there isn’t any rubber banding in response to lag outs so it’s makes it tougher to tell but with a Kill Cam I’ve seen where I’ve been killed around a corner with a DMR and one time a guy’s shields kept recharging even though I had been shooting him.
Halo is a game we like to say takes skill to be good at. Aim assist does not need to be added or enhanced. Its fine how it is. Makes those perfect kills and headshots more worth it.
I miss CE’s aim assist, which was almost automatic.
