Add Matchmaking Search Preference Options.

As the title says above. Matchmaking should include search Preference option to adjust our performance when searching for a game in Matchmaking. Here’s what the options should include…

Connection Option.
This setting adjusts on how fast the search times would be and this would affect Connection Performence here’s what we could choose from that.

“Normal” Pretty much works as it is now

“Quick Join” Makes it so you can join games quicker but increases the chance of getting a game with poor Connection.

“Good Connection” Makes it so you could only join games with a good connection but it may a longer time to find one but it will be worth in the end.

Toggle Join-in-Progress
I know plenty of people dislike Join in Progress but it should’nt have to be removed. There are plenty of people that like Join in progress cause it helps them join games quicker especially in low pop playlists. And shoves the probelm of quitters but including new players to fill those spots. But there should be a option for Enable or Disable Join in Progress. So if you disable it. The player will never join a game that’s in progress. That way it can please both players that like or dislike Join in Progress.

DLC Preference Option
Now here’s an option that Reach should’ve had. And what Halo 4 should have real soon. When this option is Enabled you’ll only be paired with players that own the DLC you have. The only drawback is that it would increase search times but you can reduce it by setting Join in Progress on and if thats not enough then may resort to using Quick-join to make it quicker to join DLC matches.

So yeah thats pretty much it. So 343i please include these Matchmaking Preference options. Especially the DLC one so it would make it much easier for us to join DLC games.

Hello…Anybody?

YES! I need to be able to turn that -Yoinking- JiP off!

All of these are good suggestions…but knowing 343i they will simply ignore them.

Oh c’mon i’m sure they wouldn’t dare ignore this neat idea of mine.

Implementing a menu to do something like this would require UI changes, which would require a title update to download the update main menu .map file, which could be a huge download and such a download is less than optimal for those with a poor connection or a download limit.

I like all of them except JIP. For that system to work you have to have a pretty sizable pool of potential replacements to throw into games at a moment’s notice. If you allow people to opt out two things will happen.

The first, with a smaller pool of new recruits it will take longer to recoup lost players and games will remain unbalanced for longer periods of time (objectively bad).

The second, the people who don’t opt out will be shouldered with a greater burden of JIP games not otherwise filled and they will be more frequently annoyed for their continued good service (again, objectively bad.)

And both of these only to please those who can’t stand the mere chance of “unfairly” “loosing” a single game per session (since you can always stay with the lobby to avoid any more JIP’ing) to help everyone else out (a pretty and selfish trifle.)
