Add Halo Wars to the fold.

This is certainly more wishful thinking on my part, but I’d like to see the mention of vehicles from the game Halo Wars brought into future Halo titles or books, small mentions I’m not thinking big here.

Glasslands reminded me of it when the elites were driving around in Revenants. I guess I’m a little tired of it appearing like the UNSC and Covenant only have like 4 to 5 vehicles each in there armies.

This would overall round canon together better and mesh Halo Wars with the rest of the series, right now to me at least it feels like the odd one out (from a narrative perspective)and distant with the other 5 games.

There’s a lot more canon that is fundamentally out of place in Halo Wars with the rest of the series. But the vehicles would be nice. More variety, rather than Warthog with X weapon.

yeah I agree with that its the worst of the Halo games I think , but merging it with the other games and the rest of the universe subtlety would be good for the whole

I don’t know about you guys, but I’d feel like a god riding around in a grizzly.

Agreed 100%. They make Halo Wars seem like an outcast. It doesn’t get the attention it rightfully deserves.

The cargo transport is in legends. Megablocks have a lot of halo wars vehicles. The Cyclops and the prototype are related. Well halo legends has a lot of halo wars stuff.
But I hope they tie it in more.

I like the spirit of fire’s reference in the Journal.

My post didn’t get posted again!

They do have a lot of halo wars things in legends. I like that and the reference in the Journal.

Edit: Never mind… this is really messy sometimes.

You know, I still have played Halo Wars?

Overall I like Halo Wars, the vehicle designs they used were cool on both sides and deff wouldn’t mind a sequel to the story. Its a good game not a very good story, but much much more can be talked about since they visit a shield world in it.

This is separate but I’d like armor abilities to also be brought into the expanded Halo universe (mainly novels)

But some stuff in Halo Wars is rediculous and doesn’t fit into the Halo universe. A lot of things in Halo Wars existed for gameplay purposes (which doesn’t bother me).

I’m mainly talking about somehow storing lots of buildings on a ship and then flying them in from space. It’s kind of rediculous and out of place in the Halo universe.

I too would like some mention of things from Halo Wars. I rather liked in the 2010 edition of The Flood the mention of the Cyclops. That was a nice little reference to have in there. Hopefully we’ll get more of those in the future.

Agreed with OP.

And also, it’ll be nice to see some civilian Covie stuff. Not just Ghosts, Rev’s, and more Ghosts.

I wish I could remember what site/source the interview was from, but I remember Frankie saying that any new units/characters they create for the universe (it was in regards to Halo Wars) won’t just be throw-aways. Paraphrasing it he said they would “embrace what they created”. For me, personally, I love Halo Wars and think it’s a unique and worthy title as a Halo game. It adds to the Halo mythos without creating any paradoxes, and the environments and gameplay are awesome. Hopefully there will be a sequel down the line. *Stares intently at 343i/Robot Entertainment

Completely agree with the comment of the ship but overall the vehicles don’t seem that out of place. The flying Covenant vehicle Vampire is an excellent example that fits well as another offensive flying alternative to the Banshee or Seraph. The best in my opinion though is the UNSC Hawk its design is similar to the Hornet in Halo 3 and it looks very cool. The only thing I would want removed from it is the laser.

There are few canonically acceptable reasons why there weren’t many Halo Wars-era vehicles seen (what’s in front of you isnt everything) in the other Halo-games.

For instance:

  • Rocket Warthogs were designed to replace M9 MAAT Wolverines, which were very old technology in the first place

  • SparrowHAWKs used the unique ducted fan propulsion system, which was never developed past prototype-stage due to lack of resources during the war. The system proved to be unstable and expensive compared to the one on Hornets. (Halo Encyclopedia pg. 249)

  • M850 Grizzly MBT were unique only to the UNSC Spirit of Fire and apparently no one else but the crew knew how to outfit Scorpions into Grizzlies.

But yeah, there are vehicles that by all means should and would fit into the games; SP42 Cobra, Gremlin CSV, Covenant vehicles such as the Locust.

Only time will tell.

humanity was at its peak at the start of the war, and had much more resources to throw around. most of the vehicles were abandoned in favour of cheaper, easier to produce, and more multi-role vehicles. like the warthog and scorpion(in fact, only the warthog and scorpion). don’t know about the locust or vampire though.

FOR NARNIA!!!

Plenty of Halo Wars vehicles (both UNSC and Covenant) were included with extensive info, and even dimensions for the first time, in Halo: The Essential Visual Guide. Halo Wars has not been forgotten.

In regards to that, the Grizzly was revealed to be available to the UNSC as a whole in the visual guide. It was not exclusive to the Spirit of Fire. The reason it was not deployed in large numbers is due to its high costs and a heavy need for constant maintenance.

Ultimately the reason for all the other vehicles not appearing in larger numbers as the war progressed were tied to initial cost, maintenance, and transport issues. Logical considering the UNSC slowly lost planets, facilities, and raw materials that would provide the logistics that would support the deployment of heavier vehicles as the war dragged on.

Well that’s an Encyclopedia, I’m talking about in actual narrative some mention or cameo of these vehicles in new games or the expanded universe.
